Standard M Scizor EX / Bronzong

The only issue with the deck is knock out power. The best metal decks I've ever come across run dialga. I think the M sizor/dialga/Jirachi Promo/Bronzong route would go over fairly well. Plus the use of the stadium card and a muscle band creates defense and hits the 170 mark. In metal decks, AZ and Max Potion has always worked. A lot of metal decks, in the past, never really ran keldeo/Zorark/float, they just paid the retreat cost, put bronzong in the active with float stone and charged the next pokemon up. Then they would max potion/AZ the damaged pokemon. It was how they got around the energy disruption.

It was also reason that Garbador/Siemitoad became big and Siemitoad/Slurpuf started to fade out. Siemitoad/Slurpuf could not disrupt the energy flow fast enough -- and with steal shelter, it gave the deck even more problems. Players don't like problems. Garbador shuts the deck down. And soon after that, everybody flocked to Siesmitoad/Crobat because those bronzongs were easy targets. Manetric decks will be a bad match up for this deck. That is why Dialga is needed for the knock out power.

For standard, I think dialga will work well into the deck as the power house hitter. Jirachi Promo and M sizor will be the annoyances. I think double down on hammers team flare grunts and Xersoics will be something that players will flock too with the release of the deck. However, competitively speaking, players usually can find ways around it when they are not item locked. Lucario/Hammers is a good example of players working their way around the disruption. It hasn't had any good consistent showings at cities yet.

Some good insight there. Have you checked out the updated list at the bottom of the OP? That uses Tyrantrum EX and Giratina. Tyrantrum was added to help with the lack of outright power. I was thinking about playing a 3rd and no Giratina, but I think Giratina is quite strong on its own. Xerosic and AZ are already included, hadn't thought about using Flare grunt. Hammers were discussed previously and I decided that double head ringer would be a strong pick to couple up with Scizor. I would like to find some room for 2 Max Potion in the Dragon/Steel list though, otherwise I am pretty happy with it.

Thanks. No I hadn't. The deck list seams interesting. I have quite a few competitive decks with tyrantrum/Giritina/bronz on my channel. I recorded them at city events. If your interested in seeing how they play, you can check them out. Going tyrantrum would give huge knock out power. It's a good option. I'd still suggest to take a look dialga for giggle and grins, not that I'm a fan of the card or anything, but its not as susceptible to the Jircha promo card. Jirachi promo has put some kinks in the power house dragon lineup.

I will if I remember to do so! I have a good idea how they work anyway.
Surely anything that has special energy is Jirachi fodder!?

A few changes for anyone still following this.

Decided to play 3-3 bronzong and a level ball. I felt that 4 bronzor was unnecessary and I want to be able to setup a bronzong asap, the level ball is basically the 4th bronzor anyway if need be but has the versatility of being able to search bronzong too if needed.

Startling megaphone was cut to 1 and xerosic is being played in its place. Not only is it pseudo searchable with VS Seeker, but it works under seismitoad and similar items locks. It can even strip special energy in a pinch.

Relying on escape rope, 2 switch and a single AZ to pick up tyrantrums and similar from the active.

I have included skyfield in the deck as is the norm with Bronzong line. It is, in theory, even stronger than in a normal tyrantrum/Fortuna deck because of M Scizors ability to discard it. I can play it, get full benefit from it during my turn and then hit with M Scizor to discard it. This gives my opponent no benefit and I will have the chance to discard shaymins from my bench.

At this moment there a few problems I can see emerging. I am worried about having a heavy retreat cost mon stuck in play, with only a couple of options to retreat efficiently. I do not want to play hydreigon for 3 monsters and I cannot find the space for a couple of float stone.

Max potion and muscle bands are also things I would love to play, which I have said for a while now and still no change!

I have been thinking of deck list for Scizor-EX. I really think you need a non-ex backup. A Regice would be a nasty counter to this deck. Heatran would be a good choice in my opinion.
