Ruling Magnezone Lv X & Rainbow Energy

Hey guys,

If Magnezone Lv X has a Rainbow Energy attached to it, would the attack allow me to discard just one Rainbow energy? Or would I need another energy on top of that?

Other professors can correct me if I am wrong, but I recall that you cannot use Rainbow for this cost because it uses the word "and" instead of "or".
It requires that you discard both a lightning AND a metal energy to use the attack and Rainbow only provides 1 type of energy at a time.

So to my knowlege, no, you cannot.

I was the first one to ask this question months ago. This is actually answered in the Compendium:

If an attack requires you to discard a ___ energy and a ___ energy, it requires you to discard 2 energy. So no, you can't use Rainbow/Multi alone to pay the cost.
