irst, I wanna say to be on the safe side that the next rotation will be RR-on, or maybe PL-on. I highly doubt the SF 'zones are gonna be seen in modified decks again, similar to Regirock LA. Regirock is easily the best card RIGHT NOW to partner with Magnezone Prime; it's basic, gives extra type coverage, brilliant synergy in 'power. But we're assuming that next rotation it's GONE. I've been looking around through some of the sets I don't know as well: Arceus, B&W, Supreme Victors. I found very little that could be of use in those 3. The cards I'm about to list are by no means at all good, but here me out. First is Tangrowth X. First off, it's a stage 1 Lv.X with OK HP, nasty RC, a reasonable weakness and OK resistance. Its power simply lets you flip once a turn to heal 4 damage. Not terrible, but it's here for its attack: Big Growth. For , it can search out and attach any number of grass energy from the discard. It's OK, but you need to get them there first, saving one to actually use the attack. Also, it is an attack, so you'd better pack some way of switching it out, or bracing for it to get smashed for a prize loss. Since warp point is definetely gonna be rotated, I'm not sure how I'll do this. That hurts the idea of using Tangrowth a lot. Next is Steelix GL. This guy is a steel-type basic with a whopping 110 HP, but a terrible 4 RC. Its mend attack, for 1 DCE, lets you search your discard for 1 steel energy and put it onto him, while healing him by 1 damage. This is worse that Tangrowth in every way, except that it's basic. Still, I don't like the idea of using Steelix at all. Finally is Pikachu B/W. It's got OK hp for a basic, an awful weakness, and 1 RC. Its use would be its first attack, electrify. This lets you do the same thing as Steelix's mend, without the healing and for 1 less energy. However, Pikachu has only 1 RC, so it's easier to take out of the way. The problem is that out of these 3, Tangrowth is the only one who can fetch energy at a decent rate.
Anyways, that aside, we move to an option that I'd known about long before today: Pachirisu COL. This baby's stats are just like pikachu's, but with a -20 resist tov . Its 'power, self-generation, lets you put onto it if you bench it from your hand. That's better than Pikachu and Steelix's attacks because you get to play another energy without having to leave Pachi in the line of fire. A big difference between Pachi and the aforementioned 3 Pokemon is that Pachi gets his energy straight from the hand, which I like. Anyways, I've got the 3 'Zone Primes for the deck, as well as 2 Pachis. I just want a few more opinions.

RE: Magnezone Prime decks

magnezone works well as a late game attacker IMO

my girlfriend is currently using a pachirisu raichu prime magnezone deck. and it looks quite fun

i personally used magnezone with feraligatr and wailord tank deck

RE: Magnezone Prime decks

Magnezone Emboar, seems like the best deck for when B&W comes out, for now MagneGatr is the best IMO

RE: Magnezone Prime decks

Why are both votes saying that both are awful?!
Also, why would you use Raichu Prime in the magnezone Pachirisu deck?

RE: Magnezone Prime decks

Magnezone/Regirock/Machamp. It works well against SP's, VileGar, and a lot of other match ups.

RE: Magnezone Prime decks

Well, I don't see the synergy between Magnezone, Machamp, and Regirock. Also, would it be wise to use Pachirisu, Regirock, and 'Zone?

RE: Magnezone Prime decks

Pachizone has potential next format. But not Rock and pachi.

Since you're running 6-8 fighting nrg in Magnerock, Machamp is a good tech for SPs. SP isn't generally an unfavorable matchup however, even though it can be.

LOL@ whoever voted for both are horrible.

RE: Magnezone Prime decks

I dunno Tyraniking. Pachirisu can be useful for draw power, and boosting your attack power. He takes out energy from your hand to use as fodder for attacking with lost burn and clears your hand so you can draw more with magnetic draw.

RE: Magnezone Prime decks

Pachirisu is more of a spray risk than Regirock. You have a greater chance of dumping your hand quickly with multiple Pachi, whereas you can only use Regi Cycle once. Pachi is also a prime sniping target for Garchomp, while Regirock takes two hits to go down.

@Azul: Machamp sounds like a cool idea, I know, but I run MagneRock, and there's just no room for him. You can't drop any of the Supporters to free up space, and most of the technical Pokemon are there for a very good reason.

RE: Magnezone Prime decks

@shinigami: I thought I might be able to fit in 2 Pacirisu, as well as 2 regirock.

RE: Magnezone Prime decks

They sound like a good idea, though you can test out my list I used at States, just ask for it. I re-modified this one. 7-1 at States (top 4) is pretty good I guess. The previous one played Expert Belt and Giratina.

4-3-3-1 Magnezone (3 Prime/1 Super Connectivity)
2-2-2 Machamp SF (90 HP Machoke)
2 Regirock LA
1 Uxie LA
3 Spiritomb AR
1 Unown Q
1-1 Blissey PL
--------------------- 26 Pokemon

1 Rescue Energy
2 Warp Energy
6 Electric Energy
9 Fight Energy
--------------------- 18 Energy

3 Broken Time Space
2 Rare Candy
3 Bebe's Search
4 Pokemon Collector
1 Seeker
1 Warp Point
2 Judge
---------------------- 16 T/S/S

RE: Magnezone Prime decks

Which states Azul?

Also, with one Dialga PL, one can sweep 2 - 3 SP's with Machamp then when it dies drop the Dialga and Magnetic draw the 1 - 1 - 1 Machamp and 1 Fighting Energy, drop it back down, and presto.

California States.

Well, the thing with Dialga PL is... It can get Power Sprayed. :/

I definitely agree that in the current format, Magnezone/Regirock/Machamp is awesome. For the next format I think Magnezone Prime will still see considerable play - who he's going to partner with for energy acceleration is up in the air, but I think he gets along VERY well with the fire engine, and provides even MORE person draw power for what will likely be the fastest deck in the new format.
