Guiding questions:
1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?
3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
5. How's the artwork?

Posts MUST be several sentences long with proper grammar and spelling or they will be deleted - this forum is to discuss specific cards so other people can learn about their potential in the current metagame.

Another option being implemented is Video Card Reviews. Please read: http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=92303 for more information.

5. How's the artwork?

1. It' can't really stand on it's own, but it does have potential. It's really only useful for the draw.
2. I'm not sure. I'm surprised I haven't seen it played yet, since Claydol is gone. Maybe it's because it's a stage 2
3. Anything. Drawing cards is always nice, unless you're trying to keep your hand empty, which is possible with SF Gengar out and about.
4. I'd give it a 3/5. It's only terrible because it's a stage 2 and eats a rare candy.
5. The primes' artworks are terrible, IMO. Lv. X's were way better.

5. How's the artwork?

1. On its own it isn't very good. I actually don't think it is very good as a tech either. But it does have potential!
2. I don't think there are any right now
3. I can be used with Feraligatr Prime to drop energy on Gatr, then use the Power to draw and get more, then use lost burn for massive damage.
4. I'll give it 3/5* for having an okay power, and for having the potential of doing a lot of damage.
5. The artwork is meh to me. we've seen better.

1. It doesn't really stand on its own a whole bunch, but it has potential, I suppose.
2. Due to it being a Stage 2, I can't really think of any good metagame decks where it would be worth even a tech spot, but I'm not super well-read on decks nowadays, so there could be potential.
3. As stated above, Feraligatr Prime is a good way to draw off a bunch of energy and then Mag. Draw your hand back to 6, but a more efficient deck wouldn't be running the amount of energy needed to make that super viable.
4. 3½ out of 5 -- It has SOME potential, but with the upcoming introduction of Lost World to the metagame, even one strong attack has the chance of costing you the game. Other cards with a Lost Zone penalty might be worth it, but doing 150 in exchange for being halfway to losing? Not really worth it in my book.
5. Artwork is passable. Probably a 3½ again -- I like his creepy, glinting eye, and the Lost Zone backgrounds are really cool, but not even near the top for cool Prime artwork.

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
This is probably the most over-hyped of any Prime and it isn't even that good. Despite its Poke-Power, it can only be used in a very small handful of decks. It is not, and will never be, the replacement for Claydol GE for a multitude of reasons. (I'll leave the rest of you to actually figure those reasons out.)
2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?
There are only two that come to mind: MagneGatr, and straight-out Magnezone. Even with the latter deck, the two other Magnezone from Stormfront are both better with this thing.
3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
Dump your hand as fast as possible, potentially even with Gater Prime's Rain Dance, and then use Magnetic Draw to draw 4 or more cards at once.
4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
Despite me being a big fan of Magnezone in general, this card is disappoint. Its attack isn't that good at all, and it continually has to use up Energy ammo that cannot be recovered. I'd rate this card 2.5/5 or less.
5. How's the artwork?
It's decent for a Prime artwork...I guess.

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
This card has some difficulty standing on its own, but it is worth playing. The card definatly has great potential to be paired with some cards like feraligator prime
2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?
If Magnegatr is considered meta then that
3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
Pair it with feraligator prime to put down as much energy neccesary to knockout and take easy kos
4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
4/5 has some trouble setting up
5. How's the artwork?
4.7/5 It looks great in my opinion

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
It cant stand by its own, but it have potential.

2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?
Magnegatr, and with Noctowl HS.

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
Magnegatr decks, Noctowl HS and to substitute Claydoll GE.

4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
I think 4/5, Because its a good card, but it is a stage 2, so it can take some time to appear.

5. How's the artwork?
I think 3.5/5 . Its a great Artwork, but not the best for Primes.

I Have One! I Have 0 Magnetons :'( , But I have 3 Magnemites (2 from Supreme Victors and 1 from EX Team Rocket Returns), so I use my Rare Candies :D

I hope I've written correctly.

5. How's the artwork?

1. On it's own it's not too great. The draw is nice and the attack has potential to hit like a truck, but you need to put down the energy fast. but in the next format it could be promising
2. Not exactly popular but my Electric Acceleration deck uses it magnificently, with Ampharos from HGSS
3. Ampharos from HGSS can use it's acceleration Bolt to put down the energy very fast. Usually I put it down for my Electivire FB first, then before it gets KOd I use it's Energy Recycle for the extra discard fodder
4. I give it a 3/5 It's got a great Pokepower and it's attack shows great promise but if it's all alone your out on a limb.
5. Not the best but I like it for the most part

1) Its pretty good on its own, but you need memory berry so you're not wasting energy every turn. If you're just running magnezone, I think 2 primes and 2 SF electric are best.
2) Magnezone is a reasonably popular deck right now. Mag Prime complements the other magnezones well and can take about anything down in one hit. Its not your main attacker, but a support attacker when you need super high damage.
3) It can also be used with energy exceleration like UL Floatzel or Feraligatr prime.
4) 5 out of 5. Amazing card with good HP, an AMAZING support attack, and an amazing support pokepower.
5) 4/5. But it could be a stick figure magnezone and I would still love this card.

1. its an ok card but it takes energy to the lost zone :(
2. i spent more than $80 making a deck for it, and it works great.
3. its good with feraligatr prime. however my deck doesn't use feraligatr.
4. 4/5 if you know how to use it.
5. 3/5 boring it seems like all magnezone cards get a close up image of it.

@GrimKarasu
halfway to losing? what do you mean? lost zone states that you have to have 6 pokemon, not 6 cards, in the lost zone to lose. so putting 3 or 4 energy into the lost zone will not have any effect when it comes to lost zone stadium.

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
I don't think it's really worth being played yet, not till the pixies get rotated out. and a retreat cost of 3 is just crazy
2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?
none so far, maybe gatr prime and lanturn prime as a strong counter to gyarados due to weakness.
3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
like I said above, also with sunnyshore city gym.
4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating.
4 out of 10, Uxie is still a more popular draw tech
5. How's the artwork?
so-so, the background is good, but the pokemon itself is lacking.

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?

On its own as a hitter, its kinda One-Hit-Wonder. The attack has great damage potential but lacks of continuous damage output without burning too many ressources. On the other hand, the Power itself is a good reason for playing it. So i think yup, its definitely worth being played.

2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?

Ive seen it in many stage 2 combos, eg FlyZone, Machamp/Magnezone (which i played at CC's) or Steelix/Magnezone.

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?

The combination with Zone X should be pretty cool when you need an unexpected sidehitter. Retreat, Lvup,Electric Trans and ~200dmg for gg. Also the whole Magnezone family gives you large opportunities for combinations with nearly anything. Magnezone Prime can get countless Setup decks going.

4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).

4.5/5. Being a Stage 2 is a clearly a disadvantage, but apart from that its really a great card imo. High HP make it somewhat resistant to snipers and the attack can really save your ass sometimes.

5. How's the artwork?

Mediocre Prime Artwork... 1/5.

Ooh my Maggy! :D
1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?

It's pretty good. A nice source of drawpower, and can do some good damage, albeit with a cost.

2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?

MagneGatr uses it, but I think some people have teched it into other decks as a replacement for Claydol. That said, it just doesn't work as well as Cosmic Power.

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?

Feraligatr Prime, attach water energy and then LZ it for lots of damage. This card can also abuse Judge, particularly if you have more than one out (Judge, play as many cards as possible, Magnetic Draw, play as many cards as possible, Magnetic Draw again, and if you're running enough Judge/VS Seeker, you have a high chance of having gotten one by now to Judge next turn as well).

4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).

3.5/5. It's an alright card, but fairly slow. MagneGatr does well, particularly in a Gyarados-based meta, but can be pretty slow. Other than that, Magnezone doesn't have much of a place in any other deck as of now.

5. How's the artwork?

It's very good, 4/5. I love the background, and the colors used to depict it.

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
It's great. It obviously does have a potential and with some cards it's worth being played.

2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?
MagneGatr, Magnezones overall (supporting with two SF Lightning Magnezones) and... Newest Dialga from Call of Legends.

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
I see how some people like Magnezone with Feraligatr prime, to attach cosmic amounts of energy and then OHKO everything, but I see it even better...
Dialga CL on front, shuffling hand into deck (so VileGar and LostGar won't do anything) and in our turn, drawing 6 cards, giving us a new hand to use and reshuffle.
Judge abuse/Let Loose Giratina also works.

4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
I'd say 4,5/5. The minus is... well, 2nd Stage. That means being slow. Oh, and damned weakness to Donphan ;<

5. How's the artwork?
I like it personally. It gives nice feeling. Like he's a gangster. xD

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
It's an okay card. Can stand on it's own, but even though it has potential, I don't think it is worth it.
2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?
MagneGatr. Other than that I don't know.
3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
Feraligater Prime and/or the Black and White Enbouh when it comes out. Attach lots of energys and BAM! Your oppenent is left wondering what happened. The Weakness coverage is also a nice bonus.:D
4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
3/5 It has potential, but for now I don't think it is worth putting into a deck.
5. How's the artwork?
2/5 It looks like it's trying to do the Hokey Pokey.

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
When I first saw this card, I thought it was going to be used primarily by some players as a new “Claydol,” just for drawing purposes in CERTAIN decks. For card drawing, it’s excellent. However, after devoting some serious deck building time to this card, I believe it also has a great deal of potential too as a featured component of a deck. I do know of a master player in Ohio who made it to a CC top 8 (undefeated in Swiss rounds, I believe) running straight Magnezone; so, this Poké is solid.

2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?
Currently, the top iter decks are arguably SP, Gyarados and Gengar. Magnezone Prime would not compliment/enhance neither SP nor Gyarados decks at all. It could work in a Gengar deck ala Vileplume, but for drawing and sometimes as a secondary attacker.

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
Viable combos for this Poké are, in my honest opinion, are:
a) Feraligatr (GS). ‘Gatr can Rain Dance down a “flood” (pun intended) of W energy onto your Poké in 1 turn! Magnezone Prime can then use that energy to 1hko any defending Poké with its Lost Burn attack. When I first saw this deck in action, it was amazing. One downside note: Lost Burn is a great attack; but one must manage his/her energy resources very carefully.

b) Magnezone Lv.X, Magnezone (Sf), and Steelix Prime. In building this deck, I’ve found this combo to work extremely well together. It has several attacking options, strong drawing abilities (so, I can continuously disrupt my opponent’s hand by playing numerous Judges), and energy manipulation.

4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
I’d award Magnzone Prime a “4 star” rating because of its Magnetic Draw Poké-Power (unequaled in the game today), Lost Burn attack (can 1hko ANY Poké with sufficient energy in play), and its strong “family line,” including Magnezone Lv.X and Magenezone (Sf).

5. How's the artwork?
The artwork s “so-so,” nothing really special or fantastic.

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
I for one like Magnezone Prime. Its ability is incredibly useful, and despite popular beleif it CAN stand on it's own with the right techs. (The new Pachurisu!)
However, I do beleive Gatr-Zone is the best way to go. I still need to play test this theory.

2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?
I can see Gatr-Zone being somewhat popular, but I'm biased cause that's what I'm running.

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
Spirtomb start (Portrait) Smeargle, Magnemite on the bench, use opponent's supporters when they can't. Grab a Pachurisu and some electric and toss it down while still attaching energy to Magnimite and evolveing it with Spiritomb.
After you attack with Magnezone, seeker/ scoop-up Pachurisu, rinse and repeat.

4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
4/5 because it's ability reduces the number of Uxie that you have to run with it wich leaves room for valuble techs like Smeargle and Spiritomb. Also since you constantly refresh your hand and you have Smeagle helping, you only need a minimal amount of supporters. This gives you lots of room for the massive number of energy you'll need. It only has one weekness. Those energy you use are gone forever. It doesn't contribute to losing to Lost World, but you have to run a lot more
5. How's the artwork?
It's alright. There has been better Primes as far as pics go. They tried to make him look creepy and threatening and he came out looking a little creepy, but mostly dopish.

5. How's the artwork?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Answers:
1) Kinda bad, however it's poke power would play an important role on the bench, unless you opponent plays a form of Gengar.
2) Usually used with Spiritombs and the promo version of magnezone for gyro ball and switching while you always seem to have a prepared hand. and SEEKERS too.
3) I would choose to use all two Promo magnezone, 1 Prime and 1 X as well as having extra techs such as spiritombs, conductive quarry and pikachu to recover more energy.
4) I'd give it a 3out of 5
5) The artwork is pretty neat however for a Prime, I think it needs to like have more action in the background rather than plain waves.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I can think of many better Primes, but this is still better than some such as Slowking, Ampharos, and especially Steelax and Sicsor

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
It's O.K. i guess it would be a lot better if it's retreat cost was 0.
2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?
I could see a lot of deck's running it once uxie leaves the format.
3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
Rain dance lost burn can you say bye bye.
4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
3.5/5 it's attack is decent cant really see resistance coming in handy retreat is hefty if bright looked.
5. How's the artwork?
I think it's pretty good just because of lost zone in back round (I'm a pretty big fan of the lost zone).

1. Analyze the stats of the card (HP, Weakness, Resistance, Retreat cost).
140 HP is decent for a Stage 2, and just a bit above average for Primes. It's weakness isn't too great, especially since with it's release was Machamp Prime, and a powerful fighting deck, DonChamp. It's resistance isn't amazing, since there are very few metal cards in the competitive circuit. It's Retreat Cost is terrible, if it gets stuck active, then it might stay there for a while, unless some outside force is used (Warp Point, Warp Energy, etc.)
2. Analyze the attacks of the card.
I presume this includes Poke Powers and Bodies. Magnetic Draw has amazing potential, although people have failed to realize it. While running a 2-1-2 line isn't exactly a replacement for Claydol, it can still work fine, as long as you are using a deck that uses cards quickly. Or something that gives you whatever you want to draw (ahemcoughPorygonZLv.Xahemcoughwheeze). And it's attack is also great. For the simple Lost Zoning of some of your energy, your opponent can pay in prize cards. However, it does have its flaws. If you need to K.O. a 60 HP Ponyta, that'll be two energy into your lost zone. However, Expert Belt can fix this, bringing the situation up to 80 HP instead of 60, and that's a little easier to imagine.
3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
A lot of people use this with Feraligatr Prime, to attach lots of Water Energy and then Lost Burn your opponent. This can be a bit slow to set up, however. And, I constantly find myself in energy droughts, even though I run Interviewers Questions to counter this. There is no great way to get energy out without some kind of recoil (Electrode Prime is a great example)
4. What techs can you use to combat the weak points?
Well, a good evolution starter, like Spiritomb, or fast setup trainers, like Broken Time-Space and Rare Candy. And, Expert Belt or Plus Power can fix the damage, not problem, but "high-cost"
5. How's the artwork?
Nearly great. The way the magnets are placed, it almost looks as if they are popping out of the card, like a Lv.X. Plus, the swirl in the background is a nice touch.
6. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
Magnezone Prime gets a 3/5 Stars. While it's no Claydol (Which would get a 5/5 stars), it can be a decent replacement, if played right. Plus, MagneGatr is a decent deck, but not fast enough to be competitive, and, I find that I get in energy droughts often enough, even with cards like Interviewers Questions.
