I recently discovered that Mario Kart Wii has been confirmed to launch next year. Plus, a bundle of information has come forth from E3. From the video I can say that the following characters will be in the game:

  • Mario
  • Luigi
  • Peach
  • Toad
  • Toadette
  • Donkey Kong
  • Bowser
  • Yoshi
  • King Boo
  • Baby Mario
  • Wario
  • Waluigi

Also, several tracks were shown in the video clip displayed on various websites. These include new tracks and tracks from previous games like Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart Double Dash!!. Additionally, Nintendo revealed the Wii Wheel, which is supposed to be packaged with the game upon its release.

Nintendo has confirmed Gobal Wi-Fi support, which is good news. What other features/characters/items do you think will be implemented into the game's software?

Aye, Toadette = she-toad.

As for what we can expect...

In terms of characters, I'd say we could easily expect to see Bowser, Daisy, Diddy Kong & Baby Luigi. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that Bowser and Diddy Kong are guaranteed.

I'm sure we'll also see a return/rennovation of Mario Raceway, Kong Jungle, Bowser's Castle and Rainbow Road - here's hoping that Rainbow Road looks like something out of SM Galaxy.

As for features, I'll be happy if Mirror Cup goes back to reversed tracks. :D

If I'm being greedy, I'd really love to see an "Underwater World" track where the karts are turned into wheeled submarines or something...

I agree, Diddy Kong and Bowser are almost definates. Hopefully we'll see at least two or three characters new to the roster. An "Underwater World" sounds interesting, but I doubt that would happen.

As for the format of racing, I noticed that you can use one or two characters in a kart.

-Update-

Bowser and Yoshi are confirmed to be in this game.

This may be one game that actually works well with the Wii's controls. Maybe they will have alternative control methods though.

I just now saw this thread......I knew they'd make a MK for the Wii, I just hadn't heard about it yet. I'm really excited now!

A few points.....

Why have both Toad and Toadette? UNLESS you can get special items (MKDD) bonus things, they sound like clones to me. <.<

I'm so glad they're finally adding King Boo back! He was awesome! Although I'm not a big fan of the heavy people, still. I loved battling him on Super Mario Sunshine. :F

Have they added any info on drifting abilities? I wonder if you'd be able to snake.....

Yeah, I'm almost positive that they'll have the Rainbow/Star Road, Bowser's Castle (Which always get's a new, refreshing change), Mario/Luigi/Peach/Yoshi Curcuit, and some sort of boring pitiful course such as Figure 8 Curcuit. :F

They need to create many more new courses (I would be glad to see one on the Shroob Planet!:D). MKDS had 32 courses, but half of them were from old games. Don't get me wrong, I like the older courses, it's just that some of them were not even worth the time and effort (i.e. Moo Moo Farm, etc.).

Where's Baby Luigi?! He's the best baby of them all! Baby Peach = Annoying Crying Baby DK = Uh......too fat and ugly? Baby Mario = Overplayed Baby Luigi = 4w3$0m3n3$s!!

I REALLY hope they add a basic Shroob as a character.....It's main cart could be this barely hovering ShroobFO. I would play as it all the time!

Also, they need to add many more unlockables. MKDD had a lot, which was good, but MKDS was pretty lacking.....

They'll probably need to add some sort of alternate playing mode, such as a Challenge Mode, or something. Sort of like Mission Mode on MKDS, but different. Mission mode got rather bland....

Same here, about Mirror Mode. It's been in the last two, so it'll probably come back.

There might be an underwater track (River Twygs? AWESOME!!), but, they really couldn't make the carts into subs, becuase then they'd have to create a different sub for every cart, which would take a large amount of unused data. Nintendo usually doesn't do things like that.

River Twygs being mentioned, I'd LOVE to see a course from Super Paper Mario. That would be so awesome! (I'd like to see a Super Paper Mario course on Super Smash Bros. Brawl too, where you'd be in the Paper World. Everyone would be Paper when they fight. You'd start out in a 2-D stage, then, occasionally it'd flip, making it 3-D, then back, etc. But all that is besides the point. :F)

Anyone agree with anythin? I think that's all the points I can think of right now......Thank you to those who actually read each one of those. :F

I don't know why they have both of them either. I'm fine with just Toad. I know they will have a single and double character mode, but I'm not sure about special items.

Yeah, King Boo was good. But, I would like to see some new characters. Oh, imagine if Pikachu made it into the game. xD
