Rosalina is in this game....? GASP! SHOCK! AMAZEMENT! AWESOMERAGIOUSNESSZORZ!
You know, with them putting Rosalina in, it's a wonder why Nokis or Piantas (sp?) haven't been added a characters. Although, I bet we will be seeing Lumas in the stands etc. cheering....
I love the addition of a ton of characters to choose from and all, but.... Bowser Bones? Baby Daisy? PMJ will be happy about the latter, but....

A Luma on her back.... Is it her "main" Luma from Galaxy or just some random Luma?
Also, I've been wondering, and I haven't heard anything relating to this yet.... Do the characters have special items that only they (or a few others) can get? Like on Double-Dash?

No special items, which is kind of a shame as there is no difference between the weight classes other than how they look (Everyone in each weight class can use the same bikes/karts too). Still, at least we now see the death of the Bowser shell.
Yeah, Rosalina has a Luma riding with her, although it's kind of hard to tell whether it's the same one in Mario Galaxy (it probably is though). She keeps the same weird-cool voice which is pretty much the reason why I use her ;D
For those of you who are wondering what the difference between Karts and Bikes are, the karts can get a much larger boost with drifting if you hold it down long enough, while the bikes can perform wheelies at any given time to make you go a little faster. They are pretty balanced, neither outclassing the other, but if you use the wheel that comes with the game then sticking with the kart is... good advice. I would say Bikes are also harder to control overall, but best for time trials- that's just me though, I have seen some truly incredible players using the Kart.
Oh yeah, stunts. These aren't nearly as gimmicky as one would expect, because it requires a certain amount of thought to successfully pull one off. Simply doing a stunt is easy; simply flick the remote whenever you go up a ramp, and when you land, you get a speed boost. But as all you veterans know, the speed boost isn't always a good thing... So has the two people on one kart feauture been completely removed? Caus I miss the Co-op mode
Yeah, not many people like to do stunts, just because of when and where they land. It's the yellow Luma, Togeshroob, if that means anything.

That means it's just an ordinary Luma. There are three special Lumas in Super Mario Galaxy, two of whom are often seen by Rosalina's side. The first one is a beige Luma simply named "Luma." It's the first one Rosalina met, the one that hangs out with her in the storybook, and the one that hides under Mario's hat to give him the spinning power. The other one, I think is named "Polari." He's a black-colored Luma, the elder among them, and stays by Rosalina's side during the events of the game.

Don't know about that ID sorry. Ask bacon or someone that already has it. Yep, only 2 days until I get it, and I'm throughly pumped for it. I havent' been this excited since Brawl came out, which is good.
Bikes and Karts depend on which ones you choose. There's no glaring differences; just differences with boosts and drifting.

There isn't 2-player GP explicitly - you can do 4 vs races in order as a kind of substitute though. So formally you can't, but there is a mock form of it that can be done with 4 players as well.
On a side note, I just won a seriously imbalanced battle mode... 4 guys on the opposing team, 2 guys (including me) on mine.. I scored enough points to beat the 4 by myself tho ^_^. MAN that was cool...

Can't wait, won't have much time to play it though I got Baseball about 2 hours after I pick it up. But my store gives people an extra Wheel when they buy the game so it's not so bad
I was going to ask about getting another wheel, because I pre-ordered it more than a month ago. That would be nice. I hear the Wheels are going for $10 though, so it's not that bad. I have no h/w this weekend, so I'm totally free to play it tomorrow, just like I was in Brawl.

Say, does anybody here know about the GameStop midnight launch of this game? It's already happening at certain places in North America.
Unfortunately, the GameStop I preordered mine from isn't holding one. I think it's because of how the management hates leaving the mall open to anybody past its 9 PM closing time, even for managers and employees and that they had just reluctantly did it for SSBB last month.

Are there any new character-specific stages? Like, stages that are from one or two certain characters' game (Luigi's Mansion - MKDS)? Aside from Bowser's Castle, of course.
If there are, I'm hoping for Comet Observatory (Rosalina) and/or something from Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time (the Babies).

I don't think so Togeshroob, unless you mean the obvious. (Luigi Circuit, Mario Circuit, DK...)
I got the game, and I turned down the offer of getting another wheel, quite simply because I had doubts about it. Turns out I was right, I like the Wii Remote turned on its side much better. Turns quicker and is much more comfortable for me. Haven't unlocked anything yet, but I've done a couple Grand Prix races.
