down where i play and i guess at uk nationals we play best out of 3 games. is a best out of 3 game classified in the rules as a match. also i have also checked in the rulebook that if any card is sent to lost zone it stays there till the end of the match. so if any card was sent to the lost zone the match is a best out of 3 games so the cards would not return to the deck intil the round is done.

Yes best of 3 is considered a match in the the rulebook.

If a pokemon is placed in the lost zone, it stays there till the end of the game, not match. So if a card is placed in the lost zone in game 1, it returns to the deck at the start of game 2.

They have that ruling for other card games, like Magic and Yu-gi-oh, but Pokemon does it differently. I think it's because Yu-gi-oh is always a best of three in tournaments.

Plus, with Yu-gi-oh, you don't have to have a certain number of cards in your deck.
