Thats a happy outlook lol
Nonetheless you people all say that theese cards are meta changing but the same has happened in all of the other sets. Chances are that most of the cards already mentioned will sink to the bottom with most of the other overhyped cards.
Overhyped
Glaceon Lv. X:
What does it combo with!?! There really isn't all that much that you can do with it even though by itself it is an amazing card.
Scizor: Weak to Mag is something that you just don't want to do and if you want to do any assured damage without a DRE then you must wait until T3 when you probably will have to face a Gallade or a Magmortar where you will just loose.
Garchomp LV.X: This will definitely get some feedback. Not only do you have to be active to use this card(making a difficult setup) but with its first attack you pretty much have to sign your own death. THe fastest way to get this card out is a T1 Gible a Candy and a chomp. Even with that extreme luck you have to flip to do any kind of sniping and you have to have something in your discard pile to rebirth. Now most of you Garchomp fans are going "DOX why don't we just play it later in the game?" My response is that if you do then after you rebirth then you will take massive damage from your opponents set up bench. Then if you live then you can retreat but what does that even get you if you are down a couple of prizes a card that will go down later. I'm sorry just isn't cutting it.
All three starters: All of the starters here *With possibly the exception of Infernape* are worse then their DP counterparts.
Hyped enough:
Omastar: Definitely one of the best cards in the set. I personally think that instead of the Kabutops combo people should play it with plus power and Cresselia Lv.X.
Leafeon Lv.X : Good card overall not terrible. Good ability and decent attacks and with an espeon and a warp point this will be a decent card for Blissey and/of exeggutor.
Phione: A decent start but still needs to waste one energy. An equilvilent to Pachi in my mind.
Porygon Z Lv X: THis card is barely hyped at all and that is how it should be. This card can hold it's own but it really shouldn't be played with any sort of regularity. Good for a fun deck that's all
Underhyped:
Hippowdon: My favorite card of the set. Played with Togekiss it makes for a more powerful but much less technical form of Magmortar.
Call Energy: Most people dislike this card with good reason, they already have a start. ok lets say that you are playing straight scizor and you don't have a candy to evolve into a scizor T1. THen attach a call energy and grab 2 more syther. Not a half bad card now hunh.
Aerodactyl: Not a half bad tech for a PLOX deck that uses alakazam. Now not only can you stop their pokepowers but you get the bonus of punishment too. Helpful for that late game bring down.
Thats my rant thanks for reading
This set IS metagame changing. Just for some rebutle (sp?):
Glaceon: Who needs it to combo with anything? The lutions are beastly by themselves. If you really need a combo, go go gadget wager. :/ Its a faster plox with a better attack that spreads and a far better weakness.
Scizor: I haven't even seen hype from him. He's probly the best metal type around now, but thats not saying much. He does a solid 80 for 1 in most cases and will overwhelm gallades or whatever with beach. Plus magmortar is dead. See above.
Garchomp lv x: Why does this need to get out active? Its useless early game unless you can donk a felicities or two. The power is absolutely sick, setting up OHKOs with every garchomp left in your deck if you can hit 2 heads (easy enough, espically with a good list to recycle the lvl x). The attack is just broken. The abiltiy to get back a dead chomp (or 2), put them in play, and load them up is just wrong. Oh, and can you say TECHS?
Starters: New Ape>>>>>Old Ape. I don't think theres any debate here. It does 10 more damage but can't abuse scramble in any way. 120>90. Also, the first attack is amazing. 30 and 10 may seem weak or whatever but it does make a difference. Note: 30+110=ko. Empoleon is just the wrongest card. lol. Seriously, split bomb for 2 on a 130 hp pokemon is just begging for play. But to have an attack that does reliable damage (something this format does not have atm) with minimal drawbacks? Can you say win? Torterra is debateable. I would say a 2-1-1 split will occur in most lists. But what the numbers are will be up to testing. I find myself liking the older one more.
Omastar: People seem to underestimate how hard it will be to tech fossils into your deck and make them run constantly. And nobody should run tops and star in the same deck. They have no *reliable* synergy. :/
Leafeon lvl X: This card is overlooked but its really potent if you can get constant energy supplies. Stall behind a wailord and jack up something silly like magmortar before exploding with multiple leafeons.
Phione: I don't see how you're "wasting" an energy. I'll let you keep your stantler if I can guarntee myself a t2 claydol and t3 my main attacker.
Porygon lvl X: This card....well, lets just say it can either ruin GG or flail against it. lol. Its just such an unpredicatable deck that makes it not tourny worthy.
Hippowdon: 50 and flip 6 coins for an additional 20 per head may sound good but its not really. You're looking at 110 for 6 energy. Magmortar hits for 120 for 60. So why play a guy who could hit for 50 only when you can hit for an auto-60 with an amazing lvl X?
Call Energy: This I agree with you on. It never ceases to amazes me how so many people HATE consistancy. Absolutely breaks blissey back into the format.
Aerodactyl: This card is actually getting hype. t2 getting 2 benched via ominate is just amazing. It definately does not fit into Plox in any way though. Use it in omastar decks.
