Hello everyone, SaiScott here! I've come seeking advice for my OU team built around one of my favorite Mega Evolutions, Mega Beedrill. This team has a hyper-offensive play-style with the overall goal being to wear the opponent down with all the switch initiative attacks and finish off with sweep.

With that, let's get on with the team!
Spiral (Beedrill) @ Beedrillite
Ability: Swarm
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Poison Jab
- Drill Run
- Protect
Mega Beedrill is the focus point of the team. With the switch initiative provided by the support Pokémon I selected for this team, the plan is to wear the opponent's team down enough to sweep.
U-Turn is our main attack, and in my personal opinion, is what makes Mega Beedrill so amazing. Paired with the 140 base speed, it gives our Mega Beedrill some pseudo defense by allowing it to escape battle without a scratch! Poison Jab is the other STAB move, and is our most powerful attack. Not much else to say here. Drill Run covers Steel, Poison, and can hit non-levitating Ghosts, all of which resist or are immune to U-Turn and Poison Jab.
Lastly, we have Protect so we can safely Mega Evolve our Beedrill, whose speed is horrible in its base form. Be careful when using Protect, as the opponent may take advantage of it and set up or switch.
Bisharp @ Focus Sash
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Stealth Rock
Bisharp is the Knock Off user for the team. It's also the only priority user on the team with Sucker Punch. we also have Iron Head for our next STAB move, and with our jolly nature it might net us a few flinches. Finally, we have Stealth Rock to punish the opponent even further for switching out.
Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 24 Def / 232 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Knock off
- Stone Edge
Landorus-Therian here rocking Earthquake for some STAB, and Stone Edge for some nice coverage. We also have U-Turn to keep up the switch initiative in the team. Finally, this gives us our second Knock Off user for the team.
I originally ran a more defensive set, but this one helps deal with Diancie which is a HUGE threat to this team.
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
With Talonflame flying around in OU, we need Rotom-Wash. It's possibly one of the best Pokémon to pair with Mega Beedrill, actually. Has more switch initiative with Volt Switch, and has some staying power with Will-O-Wisp and Pain Split.
Prime (Magnezone) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 168 HP / 252 SpA / 88 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Mega Beedrill hates hazards almost as much as it hates Talonflame. That said, Magnezone was added into the team to help trap and kill Ferrothorn, Forretress, and Skarmory. In addition to that, it adds in to our Volt Turn strategy, and it's slow enough to help us safely bring in Mega Beedrill! Mega Beedrill usually only can come in when your Pokémon dies, so this is a nice second way to bring it in.
Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Defog
The team really needs a way to deal with entry hazards. I originally had Tentacruel here, but Latios does the job so much better. Latios also fits the team's hyper-offensive playstyle, which is honestly what this team needs to stick with for the most part. This team also struggles against Ferrothorn if the opponent takes out Magnezone, so I decided I wanted Hidden Power [Fire] on the team to help deal with it.
