Ok, my son decided to make his first official deck list by himself (he is 11) and he decided to use M Gardevoir. He wanted to post it here to get suggestions.

2-Whimiscott AOR
1-Slyveon EX

OK I probably thought the same as everyone here when I first saw him put Whimiscott into play.....but it does have an interesting place in this deck. It's first attack Windy Mischief-"move all damage from one of your bench pokemon to your opponents active pokemon" is like a Mewtwo EX Damage change for one Fairy energy. So the combo goes like this this. Get a Whimiscott on your bench with a fairy garden in play. M Gardevoir has 150 damage on it. Retreat Mega Gardevoir using Fairy Garden to put Whimiscott to your active and use Windy Mischief for 150 damage for just one energy. Everything else in this deck is pretty straight forward. Max Elixir to spread fairy energy around for Brilliant Arrow. I feel like the Whimiscott play is a highly unlikely combo to pull off but he insist on it being in the deck. Sylveon EX I guess is something he threw in just for the healing I suppose. After playing a few games against this deck with my Volcanion and Turbo Darkrai deck I noticed it's lacking consistency some but once it gets rolling it's pretty hard to stop. He only has one Shaymin EX so that can't really change.

I suggested the following:
-1 Sylveon EX
+1 Brock's Grit/Super Rod/Fisherman

I think Max Elixir is actually a somewhat bad choice for this particular deck list. While it *can* help, my experience with a similar deck is that it tends to function far more like M Mewtwo in that your goal is a T2 Mega. Generally, I would suggest Mega Turbo for this deck as opposed to the Elixirs. If he really wants to try to incorporate both, I have seen it done that way as well.

Secondly, I would strongly recommend at least having 1 M Gardevoir from Steam Siege. That card alone can turn a battle against M Mewtwo. It also provides an attacker that requires only 2 energy and can bounce Hoopa / Shaymin from his bench. Not saying replace the Brilliant Arrow Gardevoirs. Just saying that Despair Ray Gardevoir is really useful and provides an alternate attacker that doesn't require gobs of energy to hit the board before it is effective.

Finally, the energy amounts are probably about 2 too high. That amount is about right if he is running the Elixirs. It is too high if not.

Here is my list. It is *not* intended to say "your son needs to do this." I like the idea of playing around with Whimsicott and think it could be a really fun deck that has some of the benefits of Damage Change Mewtwo EX. It is intended to show my deck list that I am using. Since making the change to this particular list, I have won 11 straight online against a variety of decks. That is obviously a small sample size, but I am mainly saying that to point out that the deck list is proving effective.

I do agree that Mega Turbo is better Max Elixir in this deck. He doesn't have 3 more because he plays M Mewtwo Y deck as well a. Hnd doesn't want to tear apart that deck. I might have to put in an order for some. Also the reason for the Brilliant Arrow Gardevoir is Because that's the only one he has but I believe the others would be easily obtainable through trades at league. He has been wanting to add a Tauros GX but I want trade mine to him......I know I'm a bad Dad. IS that the Geomancy Xerneas???? I thought that wasn't standard anymore

Absolutely shouldn't tear apart a deck he likes! If he doesn't have them, Elixir works. It is just a very different style :D

Brilliant Arrow Gardevoir is a great card and the deck can work just fine without the STS variety. It will just be slower and more prone to struggle against energy denial decks.

I am still playing around with Tauros in my deck. TBH, I have only used it once and it is really only there to provide an alternate attacker in the event I run into EX / Evolved denial cards. I don't think the card is particularly effective in this deck. Part of growing up is learning how to acquire the stuff you need when it isn't easily available from your dad right? :D

Geomancy Xerneas got reprinted in Steam Siege, so it is standard legal :)

I never realized it was reprinted in Steam Siege . I have never been big on Fairy type so I guess it wasn't something that I kept track of.
Tauros GX IMO is the best GX out right now. I have two of them in my Lurantis GX deck and I tend to use it more than Lurantis.
Yeah he has learned to get stuff on his own when I tell him that I won't trade it to him. He actually saved up to buy the Complete Mewtwo Y deck except the Shaymins Although he did manage to pull one in a Roaring Skies pack upon the Re-release of it.

I would add in at least three Xerneas XY. Even with Max Elixir it is very tough to get Brilliant Arrow to one-hit numbers (180-240 damage). Geomancy is the primary way to accelerate Energy, as it gives two from the deck every turn it is used. I would include 10-11 Energy, put 1 or 2 Mega Turbo in the deck and include a Steam Siege Mega Gardevoir, which is a superb backup attacker that bumps easy Prizes and counters Mega Mewtwo, as well as helping in matchups against one-prizer decks that are fast and aren't worth waiting until there are seven/eight Energy on the board. Finally, this is a thing I will test out as soon as I have the time to do so, but I think a couple of Nest Ball would be a good idea to get Gardevoir-EX out to start using Geomancy on them as soon as it is possible.

Other recommendations from me include including a Hex Maniac and a way to reshuffle Energy/Pokémon (Super Rod or Brock's Grit).

Hoping he does well at tournaments

I run a fairy deck that consists of Mega Diancie, Xerneas Break, Whimsicott, and Wailord and used to run Mega Gardevoir befor Xern break came out. It does pretty decently, I went 3-3 with it at an Expanded regionals last summer (with Gardevoir at the time). Personally I'd consider Xerneas Break as extra Gardevoir (or as an alternative all together), and Xerneas in general helps as energy acceleration (which people have mentioned already), which is vital considering that is how you are doing damage. It is also beneficial as it avoids EX blocks and forces your opponent to kill more of your guys.
