Mega Man X series dead?

Has the series has come to an end. Can it truly be the end, though? Anyone in their right mind who has played at least one of the MegaMan X games knows that the number of sequels must stay the same as the number of sequels for the original MegaMan series. The classic series has 9, so therefore the X series should keep up and have another game to make 9, unless you count Command Mission as the ninth game?

So, what do you think? Has it died? Or will X9 (excluding command mission) prevail? Also, I'm thinking of beginning a MegaMan club; good idea?

Well sequel wise, yes its done. Fanbase wise, HECK NO! I love Mega Man, I beat MM9 in 3 days! I have MMX on my SNES, the X series will never be forgotten. Also, if you did to a MegaMan club, I would join FO SHO!

Awesome, but is there any one else on here who even plays Megaman? I just need to make sure that there are enough people willing to participate. Oh, and BTW, wouldn't it be fail if Mega Man X made their 9th installment 8 bit graphics / 24 bit graphics like Mega Man 9 was made? XD

They would probobly do the SNES classic feel if they did that. I would love that, I love retro games! Also no, I dont seem to find anyone here who plays the GOOD Mega Man games.

I play Megaman. The X series was great. Especially the ones on the SNES^^

I've got high hpoes for X9 after MM9. Also I play ALL series that I have goten my hands on. I'm a pretty new fan and I haven't played Zero ZX or Legands yet.

They said Megaman was officially over after 8 but then they eventually made 9. I'm sure there will be more X games after awhile.

I'm more sad about MMZ ending. That series was amazing. I'm assuming they'll make a 3rd MMZX eventually, another good series.

The X series has indeed ended, but that does not mean it's dead. I'd say it's quite likely we will recieve a new title sometime in the future. In fact, Inafune has even hinted at or acknowledged the possibility something may be done with the series in the vein of Mega Man 9.

In fact in the next Coro Coro a new MegaMan game is supposedly being revealed that revives a previously dormant franchise. The artwork around the announcement sport images of Megaman.exe, X, and others. It's possible that this new game could be a brand new X installment. Although my money, if anything, is on the long awaited Legends 3.
