Megaman X series thread.

I collected Megaman X through X3 on the SNES, and then I got the Megaman X Collection to get X4 through X6.

Megaman X: This was the first Megaman game I ever played, and I still consider it to be the best Megaman game ever made, even including the classic series. It has crisp sound effects compared to the other two games and enjoyable music (notably for the intro stage, Spark Mandrill, Storm Eagle, Flame Mammoth, and Sigma Stage 1). Storm Tornado was my favorite weapon in that game. I also liked using the charged Electric Spark to wipe out a lot of enemies on the screen at one time.

There is a very strange code within the game that allows you to use your weapons in the Intro Stage. There is a YouTube video that demonstrates how it is possible.

I consider Sigma in this game to be the toughest out of all of the Megaman X games I have played. His attacks are very hard to dodge in his final form, and I usually end up going through all of my Sub Tanks.

Megaman X6: People tend to dislike Megaman X6 because of the poor stage design, the reploid rescues that can be lost, but it is my favorite game of the X4 through X6 series, due to the sidequesting and the increased difficulty. I have 3 files on the Xtreme difficulty level; one with X that has all upgrades, one with Zero with all upgrades, and one with equal upgrades for both.

I play through the Central Museum and Recycle Labs for getting Nightmare Souls. Once I get the Shadow Armor, X can easily defeat the Nightmares. I like the Shadow Armor out of all the armors in this second half of the series because it destroys enemies easily, and can be used to steal souls from Dynamo. I'll have the Hyper Dash, Speedster, Quick Charge, Jumper, and Life Recover on X, and the Hyper Dash, Speedster, Shock Buffer, Jumper, and Overdrive on Zero.

The Inami Temple and Recycle Labs definitely show their teeth, but they are fun to play for me. One of the rescues in the Recycle Labs and in the special area of the Weapon Center stage are very difficult for me, and I often have to reset and try again, so that can get frustrating at times.

Megaman X Command Mission: This game is a double-edged sword for me. The storyline is inconsistent and not developed very well, and some of the battle scene voice acting is cheesy, but the gameplay is a win for me. I must say that the first half of the game is a lot more enjoyable than the second half, but there are deviations from the story line that make the game enjoyable, such as the deployment center, secret areas, and hidden items, weapons, hyper modes, and techniques.

I like to use X, Massimo, and Zero for my team. Massimo does not start off very strong, but once he gets the Interceptor and the 2nd Action Trigger Upgrade, he becomes quite formidible. Zero's 2nd Action Trigger can deal loads of damage, and even rivals Calamity Arts to a good degree. When fighting Rafflesian, if Massimo's Interceptor cancels Rafflesian's turn (otherwise, she becomes too fast and too powerful), the battle is pretty much over, as I just go into Hyper Mode with all three characters and use all three Action Triggers to destroy her. If the Interceptor doesn't work, it is pretty much a game loss, but it is still a worthwhile attempt at Lv. 23.

Overall, I like both the Classic Megaman Series and the Megaman X series, because of their fast and difficult gameplay.

I love Mega Man series. Mega Man X was so fun, that game never gets old. That is also the first Mega Man game I played. The toughest game for me was probably Mega Man X3. I know Mega Man X like the back of my hand...

MMX Sigma final form is easy; once you get on a hand, stand on the edge of it (so the lightning won't blast you off) and spam Rolling Shield into his face.

I don't know if it's possible to hit it with the hadoken blast, but you can hit his first form with it.

I bought the MMX Collection for PS2 to have access to Mega Man X6, one of the only X games I've never played. It was pretty cool. It was also cool playing X4 and X5 again, two great games I still love.

I never played Command Mission, X7, or X8.

The Hadouken will instant-kill Sigma's first form, which is not too hard to defeat normally.

I find myself liking the SNES games overall more than the PlayStation games. I prefer the old energy meter, rather than the new one, as I feel that uncharged shots don't do enough damage to bosses anymore. The dash shot in X and X2 is a bit too powerful, though, as you can quickly do 2 points of damage in rapid succession.

I also miss the ride armors. I've only seen 2 types of ride armor past MMX4, and one of them only appears in one stage (Storm Owl's stage). I like the variety in MMX3 (Chimera, Frog, Kangaroo, Hawk).

I've yet to successfully destroy the colony in MMX5 without obtaining any of the parts. I've heard it is possible, and it is nice, as it would take the time limit out of play, and allow me to play the stages as I please. Has anyone been successful with it?

I just love playing x6 and x5.

Recycle lab PWNS Ultimate armor to teh ground. It's hard.

I PWNed x5 million of times. Just shoot the Enigma without getting any parts. Theres a 25 percent success.

x8 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any other MMX games...

Oh god... Megaman X 6...
Wow. That game is just hard. There really not many easy levels outside of Amazon Area. But its also probably my favorite just because of the difficulty.

I've blown the colony away with no parts, but only once. I didn't know it was just a random chance. I thought it was all speed, and based on your ranks on each level... but if I can get GA on the first four levels with Zero and SA on the first four levels with X and still not annihilate the colony, something's up.

Maybe I should play through X6 again. It gave me a password after I beat the game (I think), but I don't know what it does.

I believe there are two codes for the ultimate armor on X and Zero. It might be that you got the code for one of the characters, depending on who you beat the game with.

I usually go right to Infinity Mijinion's stage to get Zero. Gotta be careful in that special area, though, as the reploids there can be lost in a blink of an eye (particularly Kurono, who has a nightmare that will infect him as soon as the nightmare moves... I don't think even a Giga attack will execute in time to save Kurono).

I do go ahead and beat Commander Yammark first, as the Yanmar Option is a great weapon (especially the charged version on X, which plows through Nightmares... works particularly well in the Central Museum).

Metal Shark Player's stage is quite fun. I've found that leaving the ride armor on the highest point in the first part of the stage will make it easier to rescue a reploid that is threatened by a nightmare.

Accessing the area with the capsule is quite tricky on Xtreme mode, since it takes more hits to destroy the nightmare guarding the passage and you have to run through it at full speed without slowing down any bit in order to make it without being crushed.

The other tricky part is the area surrounding the Heart Capsule. I'll usually sacrifice a life to get the Heart Container and the reploid there (it is the only way, since once the nightmare shoots at you, X or Zero stands up and gets crushed if the ceiling is down). Otherwise, the nightmare gets the reploid, and I have to restore from a save point to return to the beginning of the stage again.

In X5, if you are up for a challenge, try using the Gaea Armor to get through the Quickman remix stage (first virus stage). It is tough, since the armor sticks to the wall and X moves slower. However, it makes fighting the Black Devil a breeze. There was a YouTube video of various MMX stuff showing that.

PMJ, it is possible to fail to destroy the colony even if you gather all of the parts... it happened to me on the very first time I played. I just reset to a save so I could try again, and it successfuly destroyed the colony. Go figure.

I have played Mega Man X only one time and I played the penguin level but I did not get very far but I have Mega Man IV for the NES and I still play it in the beaten levels and can get to the 2nd boss and then I loose all my heads there. Ialso have Mega Man 1-8 and the Japan only 2 arcade games that were never ever released here in the U.S.A. snd I can nearly beat Mega Man III and I have played II and III and VI many times on the NES but never OWED any until I got the 10 th anniversary collection for the Gamecube.:)

Megaman x6 cheats- on the start screen, press <-, <- ,<- , -> for X's Ultimate armor. It makes the game a lot easier.

Is the cheat for Megaman 6? I hope so because I have a hard time in some levels and I have put in the castle stage cheat for all the games so I can just play around in the levels.:)

Megaman X6...

I have Megaman Anniversary Collection. I've never played it yet, is it fun?

Yeah most of it is pretty easy except the castle stages of Dr. Wily. Also you have to beat 8 robots 2 times per game and the 2nd time is in Wily stages.:)

I loved the game, from X4 to X6, I wasn't able to play X7 nor X8 since I don't have a PS2 T_T. Anyway, I like X4 the best since it was the first PS game I ever played. I had most of my PS memories from here, and I love the dubbing. And who remembers the cheats here? I actually forgot, but it's so awesome to have Ultimate X at the part where you get your first armor part. But I didn't finish the game by cheating. I finished the game fair and square, both Megaman and Zero. I remember this one buster shot that shoots twin boomerangs? I forgot what it was called but basically, it was my favorite power.

Sigma here was tough since he had four forms, the reaper form was invincible when I first fought him, until I tried the fire buster shot thing, burning his cloth so easily. I have a hard time when the second round is over, where he uses two forms at the same time, the face vacuum and the beam thingy that says "The end" in an annoying way. I also like the stage with a Cyber Turkey thing? Yeah, the one with a portal at the end that rates your performance. If you get S, you get an armor part right? Sorry if I have several mistakes, it's just that I can hardly remember.

Now for X5, I love the Falcon Armor, It was like a Temporary, and Slow Nova Strike somehow. I remember this blob/goo stage when using zero, I accidentally fell of a cliff and slided by the wall and passed through the wall!o_O I was shocked by the fact that Dr. Light gave me the Black Zero upgrade! And there was this other time when I had this remote controlled fire fly thing and had to use it to get the last part of the gaia armor. It worked perfectly, although what I didn't like about the gaia armor is that it can't dash(was that right?) even though I don't die when walking on spikes. In the end there's a a scenario or something right? If you choose easy, medium or hard, it affects your ending, if it's good, bad or neutral. I had all possible endings but what I remember is where X gets cut into two. Oww..

For X6, battles with Dynamo were awesome. I remember these crystal portal things that teleport you to a random boss fight with someone. Those were really awesome. And if I remember right, there was a shadow armor that lets you hang one roofs and shoot shurikens, I liked that but my favorite was the blade armor. If I remember right, it could do massive damage and some jump dash thing. One of my favorites really, but the thing I could best remember was the battle with gate. The stage where you fight him had floors disappearing, which was really annoying. I don't remember what I used to beat him here back then, but I just did.

I wish I could remember more, but time passes by too quickly.
