Meloetta EX / Mew EX

I have been AWOL from the game for some years and I decided to return, playing in our local league. I bought a box of Legendary Treasures and simply love Meloetta EX for her looks and in my opinion, fun attacks.
Before people are yelling: There are better round pokemon then Meloetta EX, I want to make clear that I want to play Meloetta and Mew in the same deck, everything else can be changed.
I guess there are too many energies in there, but I am used to building magic decks, so I will need some help with that =P.
I hope people can help me build a fun league worthy deck =)

Pokemon
  • 4 Meloetta EX
  • 2 Mew Ex
  • 4 Solosis (Legendary Treasures, with Nap)
  • 4 Reuniclus (Legendary Treasures)
  • 1 Azelf (Plasma Blast)
  • 1 Mewtwo EX (Legendary Treasures)
  • 1 Sigilyph (Legendary Treasures)

Trainers
  • 4 Rare Candy
  • 2 N
  • 3 Professor Juniper
  • 1 Tool Scrapper
  • 3 Ultra Ball
  • 1 Computer Search
  • 2 Skyla
  • 2 Colress
  • 2 Switch
  • 2 Escape Rope
  • 1 Float Stone
  • 1 Hypnotoxic Laser

Energy
  • 15 Psychic
  • 4 Double Colorless

Strategy
The strategy resolves about as many Meloetta's on the bench and attacking with Mew EX, using Round most of the time.
Azelf is in here so Mew can mess up the opponents board, Reuniclus is there for his netforce, I didn't have a good alternative but I have my doubts on this one.
Sigilyph and Mewtwo EX both help greatly with Azelf's shenanigans.

The trainer's speak for themselves I presume, lot of search engines and cards to cycle through the deck to assure yourself of the cards needed.

RE: Meloetta EX/Mew EX

I would suggest changing Reuniclus to Gardevoir of the older set, DEX, and ND. Its ability makes each energy psychic energy on a psychic pokemon provide 2 instead of just 1 energy. Thus removing DCE completely is an option since you wont be attacking first turn if you go first anyway. So no need to rush the double colorless. Also making your energy count 12 might be a better option. Lower energy is possible, but i wouldnt go lower than 10. Also remember that Mew can use opponents attacks as well, so having a few Prism energy might be a solid option as well.

Having 1 or 2 Gallade could help as well. It's attack does 20 x the number of energy on all of your pokemon, and since each energy is 2 energy, Gallade or even Mew can become scary really quick.

2 Mew Ex
2 Meloetta Ex (though i would suggest taking it out completely.)
2 Mewtwo Ex
1 Sigilyph
4-1-3 Gardevoir ND and 2 Gallade PLS

10 Psychic Energy
2 Prism Energy

You probably want to add 2 more N and 1 more Juniper for a more solid support. 1 more tool scrapper might be suggested for Garbodor, but really 1 more wont really help that much.

Also if escape ropes are to act as catchers, dont bother. They dont act the same way and in reality dont really help that much beyond that of a switch. They get to choose which pokemon switches, so it can easily help them more than hurt them.

A single laser wont help much at all. I would say the same for float stone. I have a deck with a single float stone, but 1 is usually all it needs since its main attacker has 0 retreat cost.

RE: Meloetta EX/Mew EX

Nice! Those are some awesome things, I will take a look into what I can get from my league next time and change my deck accordingly.
As for the trainers, I was sceptic about 4 Junipers but I will give it a try =), many thanks

I think adding emolga from legedary treasures really helps you set you up bench especially since it has no retreat cost. Also Energy switch from the new set would also help you a lot.

I don't know if you know this but Mew EX when it uses round doesn't count as having the Round attack itself. Meaning that if you have 3 Meloettas on your bench with a Mew attacking it will only do 90 damage because only Meleoetta has the attack called "Round". Mew just so happens to be using it.

Just in case you didn't know that I didn't want you to be building your deck around the wrong rule

Same goes for Netforce Reuniclus.

@Darkshy: Emolga hmm? Gonna test that as well.

@AlexanderTheAwesome and Mora: Yeah I know =P I tested the deck I posted online.

little update: I decided to switch out the Reuniclus line for a Gardevoir/Gallade line. Just got to trade them next tuesday =P. It works so much better.

Update 2:
This is the new decklist:

Pokemon
  • 4 Meloetta EX
  • 2 Mew Ex
  • 4 Ralts (LT Subset)
  • 1 Kirlia (LT Subset)
  • 3 Gardevoir ND
  • 1 Gallade PLS
  • 1 Azelf (Plasma Blast)
  • 2 Mewtwo EX (Legendary Treasures)
  • 1 Sigilyph (Legendary Treasures)

Trainers
  • 4 Rare Candy
  • 4 N
  • 4 Professor Juniper
  • 2 Tool Scrapper
  • 3 Ultra Ball
  • 1 Computer Search
  • 2 Skyla
  • 2 Colress
  • 2 Switch
  • 2 Pokemon Catcher
  • 1 Float Stone

Energy
  • 12 Psychic
  • 2 Prism Energy

Still trying to get an extra Float Stone, I decided against the advice to run 4 Meloetta Ex =) simply cause I love her.
I like this version way better then the previous one, and I have you guys to thank for it =D

You should just play semitoad/mewlotta ex and witha bangle/ full bench of rounders you can 1hit anything.

I like Exploud better. Although I did watch that video, and I was impressed. Exploud OHKO's for less set up (50x means you only need three Meloettas/things that have the attack "Round" and you don't need Bangle at all.), and Destructive Sound is just plain awesome. I have yet to find a really good form of energy acceleration for it.

Plasma Badge+Colress Machine+DCE?
@Koruam: Anyways, about Gardevoir/Gallade, I suggest you tu use the Plsma Storm Ralts and Kirlia, they have a chance at paralysis.

I've tried that, Victini, and Thundurus, but honestly, they're all just a tad inconsistent. Not bad, but not something I should take to a tournament either (although it would be very amusing).

The reason to use seismitoad over exploud is because, 1 it has cheaper round. 1 DCE is much easier than 4 colorless. Also the 1st step of seismitoad also has round, so you dont have to rely on rare candy to get more rounders.

They both have pros and cons, but I would have to agree that Seismitoad is more consistent overall.

@scREAM: Wow, just wow... that was impressive, I'll test out Seismitoed version as well, I think I will like it alot.

@Luispipe: Ah nice, yeah I looked over them (must be the sparkles =P)

I have to wonder how many games he had to play to get one game like that... just a thought...

tested it out of 5 games vs blastoise, virgen, darkrai, garbodor and won 3/5 not hard
