Metal Gear Solid Snake ~Steelix~ (Battle Roads, Seniors)

Updated

@julliant: I have tested with Skuntank G, and I find that I get a stadium out about 35% of my games only to have my opponent then play another stadium over it :/

BEST. DECK NAME. OF. ALL. TIME.

Solid list too. I donn't see the purpose in only running 3 steelix though.

^ I have a 4th Steelix but I don't know if I really need it or what to take out for it.

I am thinking about putting in the 4th because I played at league and had to forfeit a match due to all of my Steelix being prized

i would take out 2 moo moo milk and put in 1 normal dark and one special just encase you get the chance to donk with sabley

^ moo moo milk is the only healing trainer I have in the deck and I would like to keep it in. Plus, donking with Sableye doesn't really work that well when you aren't running Crobat G and PokeTurn :/
Thanks for the imput though

Yea before the rotation I had 4 special Darkness energy but only because I was running Steelix with Weavile MD. I still keep Sableye but there's no other use for the Darkness energy.

I still think Skuntank G is necessary, it's just a matter of how to play it. The most common stadium is BTS, I can't really think of any other stadium that sees much play. If you put your BTS down first, your opponent can't replace it with his own. Skuntank G will be crucial to fighting Gengar SF because you can't risk with Feinting Spell.

My deck runs 1 Skuntank G with 3 BTS, and I feel it works just fine. I will put down BTS all the time unless I can see an obvious advantage that my opponent would gain, then Skuntank G I will play subjectively.

Also how are you tests with Skarmory? I only played a couple games with them and I feel they're quite bad. You need an energy on them first just to power up your benched Onix, and that will probably just invite Garchomp C Lv.X to snipe your Onix. Sableye and Jirachi are much more reliable starters. Bad hand + Skarmory = Powered-up sitting ducks, but bad hand with Sableye is an easy recovery.

Hope my advice helped.

I'll test more today and see if I can fit in the Skuntank.

Skarmory is a BEAST in this deck. I usually start with an energy in my hand so its attack is not a probelm. Being able to charge up Onix/Steelix with Special Metals without having to attack with it is awesome.

I play Scizor and its most of the same lines. I would probably drop skarmory and add Bronzong SF (Cycler), maybe a 1 or 2 more energy exchanger and more sableye. I also think skunktank g with some conductive quarry and BTS would be good.

^ I really like using Skarmory in this deck, I think that Bronzong only gets basic energy with Cycler so its not what I want to use, I used to have 3 Energy Exchangers but I took some out because of vileplume trainer-locking decks getting big.

Take out 2 skarmory and 1 Lucians and add 1-1 shaymin PL 14 and one Skymin X and 1 grass energy to move energy around and do 50 a turn

^ thanks for the imput, but I would like to keep 4 Skarmory in the deck. I like Lucians over Shaymin because Shaymin is sprayable and takes up a needed bench space :/

BRs in 5 days, need more comments!
