This is my first real post so hopefully I'm in compliance with the posting rules on this forum. Let me know if any clarification is needed.

Pokemon:

  • 3 Cobalion EX
    3 Yveltal EX
    2 Darkrai EX
    1 Registeel EX
    2-0-2 Klinklang (Team Plasma)
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums:

  • 4 Professor Juniper
    3 Colress
    3 Skyla
    2 Pokemon Fan Club
    2 Rare Candy
    1 Master Ball
    1 Ultra Ball
    2 Professor's Letter
    2 Dark Patch
    1 Superior Energy Retrieval
    1 Sacred Ash
    4 Hypnotoxic Laser
    1 Virbank City Gym
    1 Shadow Circle
    3 Muscle Band
    2 Lysandre
Energy:

  • 6 Metal
    6 Dark
    2 DCE
Strategy:
Alright, so Cobalion and Yveltal are my main strikers, Yveltal being the heavy hitter and Cobalion being my ideal starter because he quickly attacks (and discards special energies), as well as being able to cut through effects (ie. Pyroar) with a Steel Bullet and deal a fair amount of damage.

Darkrai allows for deck mobility due to his ability and decent offense if needed, plus I love being able to beat up on the bench. Ideally I'm not attacking with him though. Registeel is kind of just for fun, plus he can really be a great closer late in the game as benched Pokemon tend to have multiple damage counters already on them, or even as a quick starter with a DCE.

Klinklang serves as the protector of my metal types against dangerous opposing EXes (and isn't a complete slouch if I'm forced to attack with him).

Rare Candy and Sacred Ash, along with Skyla, Master/Ultra Ball, and Pokemon Fan Club allow me to hopefully get Klinklang up and running with minimal slowing (thinking of switching the Sacred Ash and Superior Energy Retrieval for a couple Super Rods). Shadow Circle combats Fire types obliterating my Metal types (and all other weaknesses for that matter, though I'm considering just using a second Virbank), while Muscle Band, Hypnotoxic Lasers, Virbank City, and Lysandre keep my opponents on their heels. Dark Patch gives the instant ability to get a Yveltal primed for attack.

Sorry for the long post. Thanks for any insights.

Edited to coincide with the rules! :D ~Kecleon

In comparison to other ACE SPEC cards out there, Master Ball is a rather weak one. Ultra Ball is more commonly played because of your ability to play up to 4 of them rather than Master Ball's 1. I feel that Computer Search would be a rather effective ACE SPEC card in this deck, allowing for consistency and speed to set up Klinklang quickly, get a Supporter out quickly, get a needed Laser, etc... Also, Virbank City Gym is usually run in 2's. It's just more consistent and can be played as a counter stadium.

Hope this helps,

Yeah, Master Ball isn't great, but Computer Search is expensive haha. I'll go back to two Virbanks, I was just trying to find a way to tech against Fire decks, but it's likely not that important. I dropped the Superior Energy Retrieval for a Startling Megaphone, and will be picking up a Super Rod to replace Sacred Ash today. I've had pretty good results with it so far. I really appreciate the feedback.

Well if Computer Search is unavailable, Dowsing Machine can be a good substitute. It costs about 5 US dollars less usually. I use it in nearly every deck I play and it works great.

Hope this helps,

Great Suggestion Lone Wolf, thanks!

I've decided to drop Registeel. He's too clunky for what I'm trying to accomplish. I'm going to put in a couple N's and definitely a Super Rod. Pyroar and Lysandre make it a little too easy to one-hit my metal types, but overall I can hang with most decks I've played.
