@DNA and Scizorlicious: You guys are missing the strategy with mew + garchomp. You lost zone the garchomp, and then restore gyarados with mew for 120 damage. So it isn't slow, you don't have to set up a stage 2, and you don't have to take up more than 3-4 slots in your deck. (plus psychic energy) And if you have space you can throw in snowpoint to give both gyarados and mew more HP. Of course you can tail revenge with mew, or restore with garchomp, but it doesn't work as well IMO.

No, I get the strategy. But the problem is, it takes an attack to get Garchomp 'Zoned. And you have to get 4 Magikarp and 1 Gyarados in the discard. THEN, you use ANOTHER attack (assuming Mew hasn't been KO'd already) from Garchomp Lv.X to get Gyara on the bench. And the 30 extra damage you get doesn't even matter that much since the magic number is 110, which Gyara reaches with an E-Belt.
And you need to waste another attack for every time you set up a Gyarados, so prepare to give your opponent free prizes in the form of Mew.

Ya. I haven't even tested it but basiclly everyone on this thread has told be amazing
reasons not to use Mew. Read over the posts to understand. If you want to, go ahead, but now I wouldn't advise it.

Okay, it makes a little more sense. Even so, Mew Prime is almost as big of prize bait as Celebi Prime.
It'd just be easier to attach a Rescue Energy to Gyarados and just kick back with insta-setup.

Mew Prime is even more prize bait than Celebi because it's actually left active quite a bit. Every time you need another Gyara, you must either attack with Mew or just do 90 damage by getting a Magikarp back, which makes adding Mew Prime pointless, since you may as well just not include it in the first place.

The only way Mew Prime works in general is if you can get a KO every turn while getting around Dialga, Umbreon, and Shedinja.

...not much getting around Dialga or Umbreon. The only Mew Prime deck that works is MewPerior, and that discards too much to have a tech you can rely on. Thankfully for Mew, not a whole lot of people play Shedinja.

With Garchomp Lv X. from MD, you could use him via Mew to bring Gyarados back from the discard and onto the bench. The Garchomp only takes up one space in the deck and the Gyarados can attack for 120 (140 with E.B.) on turn 3. If needed, you could use mew as Gyarados to finish up.
