Mewbox Variation

I had been using a MewCario setup and while it was fairly solid most of the time I ran into problems when it would take me a good amount of turns to get pokemon into the lost zone.

Anyway, I've abandoned Lucario for the time being and am trying to focus on some larger quick hits rather than specific long OHKO setups.

Any advice is much appreciated.

*Energy - 14*
(4) DCE
(2) Rescue
(8) Psychic

Goal/Strategy: Immediately See Off a Cinccino or Zoroark(if going up against dragons). Hopefully getting a Collector or two in first couple turns to fill up bench, dealing damage using Cinccinos Do The Wave in the first couple turns in hopes of getting donks and stopping setups with catchers. If dragons are in play zoroark can make easy work with a plus power. Noctowls are there for draws and to fill up bench.

Just so you know. If you foul play Bolt strike you do 80 damage to yourself. I suggest running 2 muk over two zoroark. YOu will use muk more than the zoraork. I suggest taking out the hoothoot lines for a back up attacker... You need something to counter donphan. Like yanmega prime or tornadus. Good Luck

Zoroark is still plenty useful in this format. It's like the universal counter to any hitter, I suggest keeping at least one of Zoroark. You'll never know when you'll need it.

Thanks for the advice guys. Forgot about mew/foul play against zekrom. Maybe ill run a 2-2 Zoroark.

Have you thought of running Absol prime with this? His body damages dragons when your opponent benches them, making it easier to OHKO them, and you can use his attack to get your big attacking pokemon into the lost zone for Mew. Just watch out for Donphan with him...:(

Absol is neat with Mew, but I prefer/would also suggest Relicanth. It's a little less versatile, but great draw power and doesn't require on-color energy.

Smoochum/Aipom only works with Vileplume. If you're not running Vileplume, moving their energy is an inconvenience to them at the very worst, but if they can switch out of the lock, moving energy is pointless.

You're going to need a backup attacker of some sort, so I would replace the 2 Smoochums with 2 Mincinnos or 2 Zoruas. Since you're not running Jumpluff, Do The Wave will come in handy much more often than Foul Play, so I would vote Mincinnos.

Pidgeot is all right. It has some uses, but if you're not in love with it, I'd take it out. A second Muk or a Jumpluff will treat you much better.

If you're using Noctowl for draw power, Juniper could be overkill. I'd switch to Cheren, Sage's or some sort of straight draw without as much discard.

I hope that helped! Sorry for kind of tearing your list apart; take everything with a grain of salt. And don't forget to put your age division and main Pokemon in the thread title!

I originally used Absols in my MewCario setup but completely substituted him out for Relicanths. I thought about leaving him in with this new setup but I was turned off by A) only really need to get one pokemon into the lost zone maybe 2 max really because the idea is to start doing damage by turn 2 or 3. B) high retreat cost. Thus I tried to add Noctowls in order to make up for the loss in draw power.

Ive been contemplating removing smoochums for something else for the reason if im not using him in the first 2 turns its almost worthless except to take a spot on the bench for do the wave. Probably going to try mincinnos first.

going to remove junipers for probably cherens and pidgeot for muk.

Thanks for advice. I actually beat a Zekrom/Pachi/Shaymin deck earlier. Got a little lucky with a little flips going my way on their Super Scoops but I won 6 prizes to 4. Obviously Muks and Cinccinos were most valuable. I feel a boufalant is always good to have for revenge.

Dude, nice! Boufalant is a great card, and if RDL sees a resurge in popularity it definitely won't hurt to add a copy since you already run 4 DCE.
