• When creating a thread in the Deck Garage, make sure that you post one deck per thread, you use the correct prefix, you have the set name/card number next to each card, you give a strategy for non-metagame decks, and give translations for all cards not available in English.

Just run the numbers and you'll easily see that the small increase in chances of starting with Celebi (having 4 in the deck instead of a Smeargle) aren't outweighed by the benefits that having a Smeargle can give to the deck. You run 3 switch and Sky Arrow bridge, why is getting Smeargle out of starting position such a feat when you have just as much of a chance of starting with something like Terrakion?
 
^ I was kind of talking to Mokoko. Sorry for the confusion. Its just my opinion, though other people may support smeargle. I just don't really like the idea of smeargle being the starter, I'm not really talking about the chances of it starting. I think its more of a preference thing because I think it'll be kind of hard to get smeargle, celebi, sky arrow or switch all in one turn and as smeargle as the starter. Like I said, its a preference thing so don't mind me.
 
That's great and all and I understand that, but doesn't your logic or train of thought apply just as equally to having a Terrakion stuck active from the start? At least Smeargle gives you the benefit of getting another supporter from your opponent.
 
Terrakion is a bit more difficult to KO T1 than Smeargle...
Either way its more of a gamble to stray from the base idea.
Either though both are good techs, you're probably not going to get it in your opening hand with only one in your deck.
This makes me lean more toward Terrakion, because late use it will usually get the RKO.
