So, you probably dont know, but I like quirky decks that sit just outside the meta. I built this deck based on old sablye (sorry for misspell, can't remember how you spell it) decks, but Its probably not competitive anymore. FYI: you need 2 mienfoo on bench at all times!

Pokemon:

  • 3x Mienfoo FF
    3x Mienshao FF
    4x Kangaskhan PB
    3x Phantump XY
    2x Trevenant XY
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums:

  • 3x Muscle Band
    4x Korrina
    3x Silver Bangle
    2x Evosoda
    3x Float stone
    3x Hard Charm
    3x Professor's Letter
    3x Professor Sycamore
    3x Fighting Stadium
    3x Roller Skates
Energy:

  • 8x Fighting Energy
    4x Strong Energy

Strategy:
The strategy in this is to play mienshao, attach muscle band, silver bangle, fighting stadium, strong energy etc. Then deal 100+ damage for 1 energy. Then you move up Trevenant to take hits and stop items ( with hard charm etc.) and let him take hits for you. And repeat. Iris is in there for extra damage, profs letter to get dark energy on darkrai his dark energy to give him free retreat so you can attack with mienshao.

Thanks for any comments.

You should check out Donphan PLS. It's attack does 40 for one F Energy and you switch it with one of your Benched Pokemon. That works better since you don't have to put it back into your hand like I believe you have to with Mienshao. And there are some better things to send up to the Active spot. Trevenant XY (whose Ability Item locks your opponent when Active) and Safeguarders come to mind immediately. I've also seen Outragers used as walls as well.

Outragers have high retreat costs, and this makes them unusable. They would not be a top choice. At least with darkrai you can snipe. Also, they are not intended to attack, just to take damage, and then be healed with Pokémon center lady.
With regards to safeguarders, I was thinking about suicune, but if they aren't using the cards you need they have pitifully low health.
Trevenant has too high retreat.
Donphan does not stop damage sniping.
Also, fixed spelling of immediately :)

Talking of high retreat costs, isnt that the strength of Darkrai to give many pokemon free retreat cost? You could definitely make use of that a bit more I think because it seems perhaps not a good idea to use an EX as your shield when it costs 2 prizes and lots of pokemon at the moment can knock out a darkrai with a single energy (Landorus EX with muscle band, strong energy, fighting stadium does 180, or 160 if you have a hard charm, and thats still a 2hko even with pokecenter lady... and landorus doesnt even hit particularly hard, just for small energy)

Float Stone alleviates any concerns of high retreat costs, especially with Keldeo in the format. If they're not meant to attack, then why does it matter that Darkrai can snipe? I think Pokemon that partner well with Pokemon that leave the Active spot are Pokemon that benefit in some way from being Active themselves. That's just good synergy. Trevenant and Snorlax both have an Ability that activates when Active, Safeguarders can sponge attacks from EX's, Outragers can take an attack to boost their own damage output, and hit certain important meta decks for Weakness. Even if you do want just something with high HP to take a hit, there are other Pokemon out there with less common Weaknesses than Darkrai's Fighting type. Darkrai doesn't really have that much synergy except that it's easy to retreat, but that's really not that big of a deal since Darkrai can give other things free retreat and there are other ways to deal with retreating.

This is true, which is why I find they are best used in conjunction with other Pokemon to switch into. Safeguarders can be very situational, but if you're opponent doesn't have an answer to it, or you get rid of all of their answers to it, it can be very annoying.

Float Stone.

I don't know what you mean. If you're worried about Bench damage, maybe play a Mr. Mime?

You really want a focus sash or two in this deck. Gives you the ability to leave a mienshao or even mienfoo in the active spot, take anyone's attack, and still get an attack from that pokemon on the next turn. Kangaskhan isn't that necessary with four Korrinas. Machamp FF gives +20 to Mienshao. Don't forget Fighting Stadium. Terrakion's not a bad one to have as your tank/floater because you can prime him with one energy and be ready for a big revenge hit if it comes up. Aero turn + silver bangle + machamp + strong energy + fighting stadium = 150 damage to an EX.

Oh. There are a bunch of other buffs in FF. I did not realise, having not bought a Booster Box recently. Will have to re do the entire Decklist. Sorry!
