Mismagius Play?

Does anybody think mismagius has any play?

The 80HP is def NOT a good thing.
But I know almost all decks at all times have 2-4 trainers/supporters in their hands.

Obviously with the help of a benched Mr. Mime to see exactly what they are packing, Magius' job would be easier.

The only thing I'm trying to figure out is to help keeping it from getting 1HKO'd so easily.
Defender is looking like the only option as of now.

Then, we could go complete disruption and play Magius with Slowking to control their draw. But I would want to figure something out to stop them from using the cards already in their hand. (N?)

Would Vileplume be too much? Weavile too much?
So many lower HP stage 1's losing their play because of the 1HKO factor with these stupid exs.

You need Vileplume. They will use all the items in their hand otherwise. I tried it with Gardevoir and it worked pretty well.

It works as a pretty good counter against mewtwo. I could see it in a deck meant to counter other decks so like
Mismagius UL/mismagius UD/Terrakion/maybe a mewtwo/Spiritomb so one of the mismagius acts as energy acceleration and the other as a counter and Spiritomb to help with that. With exp. share it could work pretty well i think.

No, you really need Vileplume.

I'm just saying that that's just one way to play it. Basically it's terrakion with mismagius as energy acceleration and other mismagius as mewtwo counter. I like to play 3-4 terrakion with exp. share. In that case mismagius probably wouldn't be as centered around as much as a deck based off of mismagius completely. I was talking about a deck that includes both mismagiuses (or mismagii. I don't know the plural). If it was completely centered around mismagius (attacking one), then vile plume would definitely be needed. You need something to keep their trainers in their hand.

I tried it out with Vileplume in a Truth-styled deck months ago, didn't work so well because I had a Reuniclus line in it for the higher HP tanks, but now with Mewtwo EX in the format Mismagius-Vileplume can really work I reckon. Just needs a tank to help it out with the other matchups.

If people are playing aggro mewtwo, they either have a bad hand or are running EXTC

Either way, they probably have at least 3 T/S/S in their hand (most EXTC builds run ~30-40 T/S/S). But of course you can check with Smeargle first and, if you don't like it, use spiritomb to try again. Combine this with Mismagius's resistance to Tornadus and it makes the matchup pretty 1-sided. As for Zeels, just throw in a Terrakion or 4

ALSO: isn't there an Alph Lithograph that returns a Stadium to its owner's hand? could be used for that clutch extra 30/60 damage

The people who created it did not use Vileplume. They ran

Mismagius UD
Mismagius UL
Terrakion
Spiritomb
Smeargle
Mewtwo

They had EXP Share and Mismagius as energy acceleration. Their strategy was just to go aggro Terrakion against ZekEels, and if they got out Mewtwo in order to KO it, out comes the Mismagius, with Spiritomb benched to give them a fresh hand. Against CMT, they just wemnt aggro Mismagius. It has resistance to Tornadus so it can not be OHKOed, but it OHKOs anything the CMT player brings up, other than Gigas. It was pretty ingenious.

I'm going to be honest I think a magius deck now could make a strong run maybe even in nats with a vileplume behind it and a terrakion tech. I just ordered 4 magius pack off eBay to start tinkering around with it lol.

We also ran skyarrow, and shaymin UL

Nope. It is a Mewtwo counter. The opponent either has to get rid of a lot of resources to limited the damage output, or have their main method of countering Terrakion (Mewtwo) not work anymore.

As a person who was in on the original idea I can tell you that Vileplume is the absolute worst way to play it. Played a few games on the top cuts stream at ~3:30:00 here: http://www.twitch.tv/thetopcut/b/314968645

For those who don't understand, most decks these days require a crap ton of Trainers to work. This is where Mismagius UD excels, as it can punish your opponent for running so many Trainer cards. Mismagius UL is just good for Energy excel, and the Exp. Share/Terrakion combo works like a charm.

It didn't place T4 at any States, but it did hit some high standings.

did it make any top cuts? lol.

It did make Top Cut at Texas. Not sure about the other Regionals. It was obviously a pretty good deck. I'm not sure on the staying power of the deck once Dark Explorers comes out, considering Mewtwo does take a small hit.

dmaster out.

The deck's highest placement was T16 if I recall correctly (someone correct me if I'm wrong). It wasn't a highly played deck, since it wasn't very well known.
