Misprint Portuguese Tropical Tidal Wave

Hey all,

I have with me a very rare, which I think is a MISPRINT ~ Portuguese Tropical Tidal Wave with a "PRERELEASE" Stamped on it. If I am not mistaken, the Tropical Tidal Wave was given out in 2005 during the World Championships.

Does anyone else have a similar Misprint in a different language?

I've never seen this card like this. I think its fake, because the Prerelease print is at wrong place and behind the TRAINER art, should be written "Treinador" or "Supporter", to specify which kind of trainer it is.

I got this card playing a Prerelease event a few years back. Instead of getting a Prerelease card from that set, I got this one.

I asked around and I found out that Pokémon USA deliberately placed some NON-English Tropical Tidal Wave onto the printers and gave them out. A year ago, I saw a post on a different website saying that there was a French version of this misprint.

The "Prerelease" print is not behind the art but on top. The scan is small, maybe that's why you think the print is behind the artwork.
 
I am quite sure its not a fake as I got it during a Prerelease event.

Trying to confirm its authenticity is not easy as you really hear them being mentioned on the net...

It was given out during a Prerelease event and opened from a Promo Prerelease pack...

It its fake, then Pokemon USA is just being mean...

This is the pic of a French misprint that I found from another Pokemon website. The guy that found it posted it back in 2005. As stated it came from a pack of Bayleaf Promos...

I think it's real. It seems like something Pokemon would do, but I have no factual basis for this statement whatsoever, so take it with a grain of salt. It just sounds too far-fetched to be false.

I think its fake, I've never heard of no tropical wave PR card

it was a promo from worlds '05.

no way there could be a prerelease card of it.

'but then again, the worlds stamp was on the picture so it could just be that they put the wrong stamp or something. IDK.
 
At the moment there are only 2 confirm sightings of this misprint. I have 1 and I have been in contact with the person with the French misprint. He reported his sighting in 2005 and he has kept the card since then. I have also kept my card since 2005 and only now is attempting to sell the card if there is a decent valuation on it...
 
Don't revive dead threads. Also, you aren't a Verified Seller so you can't sell it.
