A lot of people seem happy about the fact that Garchomp Lv. X and the Eeveelutions are being released in this set. I do agree that it is great that we finally have some of the better cards coming.
However, at the same time, I am disappointed with the card selection in each set. Notice how Japan has been getting sets with several Pokémon Lv. X in them, and we have only been getting sets with a few of them. Recently, I have been getting the feeling that Pokémon Organized Play is delaying the releases of the "good" cards to generate more profit and get people to buy more cards than usual. Consider the following:
Great Encounters, in Japan, appeared to be marketed as a set with legends, fossils, Eeveelutions, and other cards that made the set stand out excellently in Japan. When we got the set here, it was only mainly centered around Darkrai and Cresselia. Even though some of the cards were switched around between Secret Wonders and Great Encounters, we got a much smaller set than we initially expected. Since only a few of the cards we were hoping for were in Great Encounters, we have to buy more packs to get more of the good cards. If Great Encounters was released here along with the legendary birds, Mewtwo, Phione, and the Eeveelutions, we wouldn't have to buy as many packs to get more of the desirable cards.
It has already been shown that we can receive sets that combine much more of the cards released in Japan. Aquapolis and Skyridge contained cards that were released across several of the E-series sets in Japan. If they can release more cards in one set in Japan, or more cards in one set here, then they can release the same amount of cards in each set in equal amounts in Japan, here, and other countries.
Again, my impression of the situation may be off the mark. However, I continue to get the sense that our game is not showing the best potential that it could be showing.
Does anybody else feel like this?
