Hi.

My son loves the Munchlax character and has a coin with his image on it in his Powerhouse theme deck.

1. Is there a recent theme deck with Munchlax in it?
2. If not what theme deck could I buy for him into which Munchlax would work welll strategically? ... and then how many Munchlax cards should I buy from Collector's cache and which cards should I swap out of the theme deck when I put the Munchlax cards in?

Yum yum, Munchlaxx.

*Read the rule's. No asking for decklists.*
As for theme decks, there isn't any that I know of.

Hi Light Venusaur.

Sorry about breaking rule #1 and thanks for not banning me right away.

A. Would it have been OK to ask the first part of question 2 in a form like this?... "2. What theme deck could I buy into which Munchlax would work welll strategically?"...

B. ... or would it follow the spirit of the Deckgarage better to post a few modified theme deck lists where I inform which cards I swapped out of the original for Munchlax and ask which one might be playable?

Still hungry, Munchlaxx.

I can't ban anyone, I'm on the Trade Council. That's what the degrees sign means.
Anyways, here a deck that might/might not work for you.

Pokémon: 21
4x Munchlax
3x Snorlax d' (delta)
3x Trapinch d' (grass)
2x Vibrava d' (psychic-rare HP)
3x Flygon d' (grass)
3x Ralts (RS# 68/DF#60 (same card)
2x Kirila (PK)
1x Gardevoir (RS/PK)

Trainers: 19
3x PETM
3x Celio's Network
3x Rare Candy
2x Warp Point (or switch)
3x Mr. Stone's Project
2x TV. Reporter
3x Copycat

Energy:
10x Grass
6x Psychic
4x Metal (Special (for the effect)

Gee, LV. Minimodding *AND* contradicting yourself by posting a decklist.

As to awnser your question, Munchlaxx, there are unfortunatly no theme decks with Munchlax in it.

I would reccomend buying a theme deck that has another Pokemon your son likes, and taking some cards out to put Munchlax in.

Hi Krucifier.

I'm confused ...
what is LV. Minimodding?
and what does "*AND*" mean?

I've got the Munchies, Munchlaxx.
...oops

sorry again. I get it now LV means Light Venusaur! No need for anyone to reply, I'm starting to understand ... barely but it's a start.

Crunch crunch, Munchlax.

LV is short for Light Venesaur. Mini-modding is an expression by Krucifer, what he meant is Light Vensaur's moderating when he doesn't have the power to.

Pokémon: 18
4-4 Snolax ( 2 delta and 2 MT)
3-3-3-1 Gardivoir (lvX)

Trainers: 26
4x PETM
4x Celio's Network
3x Rare Candy
3x Warp Point (or switch)
4x Mr. Stone's Project
4x TV. Reporter
4x Copycat

Energy:16
16 psychic

*I'd do that

Thanks for the Deck suggestion LV.

I've been checking out as many of these cards (below) as I can find on Pokebeach and . I found all the HP, RS, DF and PK cards, but I don't know what the " d' " means, can you clarify for me?

"d" means delta
and the only place so far you can find munchlax are the diamond and pearl boosters

LV: What on earth? How do those combo?

My Munchlax based deck:

4 Munchlax DP
3 Snorlax DP
3 Chansey MT
3 Blissey MT
1 Minun SW
Pokemon = 14

4 Quick Ball (MT)
3 Roseanne's Research (SW)
4 TV Reporter (DF)
2 Holon Mentor (DF)
3 Celio's Network (CG)
3 Cessastion Cyrstal (CG)
2 Warp Point (DP&UF)
3 Castaway (CG)
1 Stregnth Charm(DF)
2 Nigh Maintence (MT)
4 PokedexHandy910is(DP)
Trainers = 31

3 Boost Energy (DF)
2 Holon Energy FF(DF)
11 Basic Fire Energy(any will do)
Energy = 15

Starter decks never really do anything. Buying single cards online or at card stores gets faster and more effective results. A starter deck is good to get energy, a few trainers and to get intrest. I'd recomend getting the Secret Wonders Lavaflow starter deck, as it comes with some good trainers and fire energy. And the Pokemon you get aren't terrible either. But little kids don't have alot of fun when they are always losing (which is what starter decks do in the long run. If he just wants to play with friends for fun, go starter deck. If you hvae a Pokemon League and Sanctioned events near you, and he's intreseted in them, go with buying cards online.

strength charm is in dragon frontiers also.

I see several people here who posted deck lists. And one person who is mini-modding. *coughLVcough*

Don't mini-mod, and don't post decklists. Okay? Okay.

This also belongs in the TCG Discussion forum.

Its in the Dimand and Pearl packs(NOT Secret Wonders or Mysterious Treasures). I posted this so you won't waste all your money buying the wrong set. Munchlax is also pretty cheap on the internet too.

*I'd do that
the trainers in that deck could be changed especially the PETM cause PETM could only get gardivior (normal not lv.x) or kirlea!

my decklist would be:
pokemon:17
4-2 snorelax DP
2 snorlax d
3-2-3-1 gardivior lv.x

trainers:28
4 celios
3 POV
3 rare candy
2 potion
2 super scoop up
2 night maintenance
2 castaway
4 pluspower
2 buffer piece
2 windstorm
2 warp point
energy:15
10 phychic
2 boost
3 DRE

i would rate it a 6.5-10 if i played it.

Thanks elekid957

I really like how simple this deck is, it uses my son's favorite Pokemon and then adds only one other character line.

Note: I got excited and went to collectorscache and put all the cards as singles into my shopping basket and the total was about $125 plus $20 shipping to Finland ... needless to say I have not pressed the checkout button yet.

Munch munch.
