RE: Murder IV: Heart and Soul: Day One Ends 5-25 (An RPG)
(Joeypals be stealin' mah suspects |:<)
Soon the Espeon returned. And, well, fingers began to fall on her. That was, of course, to be expected; everyone was a suspect now. Yet she firmly shook her head.
"May I remind you that my cousin Maelstra was the murderer last time? What are the chances that I would be picked again as the murderer? The odds are very unlikely, for starters...and for another, I do not have what it takes to be a murderer ((OOC: again. XD))."
With a final glance she turned from the paper. "My prime suspect, I shall admit, is Wobbufet. While it is uncertain that each line of this near-poem thing actually contains a clue, every line can potentially point to him..."
"First, there is 'Deep within the Ash I lie'. Has no one noticed the capitalization of 'Ash'? It could very well point towards Ask Ketchum, renowned Pokemon Trainer. If I recall, Mr. PMJ has done a superb job writing a certain fic (27772), in which there is an attempt by Rocket Man Giovanni to kill Ash. While this could also be tied to the legendary dogs Raikou and Entei, I fail to see that the capitalization would be so easily misplaced in this instance.
"As has already been stated, the line 'Waiting for a crucial moment to strike' could very well refer to Wobbufet and its need to predict an opponent's move perfectly if facing off against a mixed sweeper.
"'Fire and Electricity are nice' would seem like a bit of a puzzler at first glance. However, if you may recall, PMJ attempted to choose Suicune as his first Pokemon. Going back to the 'ash' hint above, this part could be referring to the fact that while Entei and Raikou may be nice, Suicune is thereby the preferred dog of the three.
"'I'd prefer working as a Psychic or Ghost' may seem obvious at a first glance, yet there is more to it, in my eyes. If you recall, Raikou and Entei had yet to be picked by the time PMJ signed up. Yet, instead, he chose Wob, a Psychic type. Of better note are the moves Mirror Coat and Destiny Bond; both are standard on Wobbu if I'm correct (ha, like it has much of a movepool in the first place!), which would therefore fulfill the 'Psychic and Ghost' bit. Also of mention is the fact that Wob is a bit hard to find in Johto, living in the Dark Cave alone. One could say it's almost like a mirage, a ghost in that way that it's so rare.
"'Just try and stop me; you won't' again seems to be different. Whereas it can most definitely refer to Wob's uber status and the fact that it takes FOREVER to kill could just be a false lead. This could be a mimickry of my last notes, where it was stated 'Come and find me'.
"Lastly...there is 'my Survivor tactics will school you all'. It is a bold statement right off the bat. While, again, it could potentially point towards Wob in the essence that it's known to survive a blow and throw it back with Counter, it could very well point to the actual show, Survivor, or something of the like, especially since it has been capitalized."
She paused. "Yet...There was some credibility to Feraligatr's points in that Houndoom would thereby be the killer; also of note is that Flare seems to have some connection to Lost, a hit drama show that talks about how people SURVIVE a plane crash and are forced to live on some dangerous island whilst waiting for help. (Well, that's my basic understanding of the first season, at any rate...). This thereby immediately ties him to the last clue. And while the ash theory holds some ground, where Houndoom is a Pokemon known for its Faint Attack, there are still some unknown variables in this.
"Speaking of Faint Attack, Umbreon is the only other one here that knows the move, which would be 'wait for the crucial moment' bit. 'Ultimate Survivor' could easily point a finger to him, given he seems pleased that he won the last murder game. Also, He did choose another Pokemon at first (Jolteon, was it?), and that fact is enough to pin 'fire and electricity are nice' on him. Again, Umbreon can learn Psychic and Confuse Ray, although they are far from standard on Umbreon (especially Psychic...). Although from last time, I am unsure of how well Joey knows of his competitive battling...
"Regardless..." she gazed mysteriously away in the morning sunlight. "...we all have large hourglasses hanging metaphorically over our heads, ones only the murderer can see. Unless something is done, then they will all shatter as the bottom-half is completely filled." She turned back, a sorrowful look in her eyes. "...I am more than positive that my hourglass will be nearing empty by today if the murderer is not caught in time. Yet...well, I shall most definitely assist you any way I can, be it now or in the afterlife. Remember that."
She gazed away again. "Come...let us hear from the prime suspects. Only then can I really say more in the matter..."
