In response to to the one banner, I mean it seems a bit rough, which is more than okay for just getting started.
In regards to the Hand Drawn Character, I like it. From the flow of the banner with the crumpled paper background it looks good. However I wouldn't have the hair colored, it throws off the flow of the black and white/exuberant colors. Not to mention there's no shedding and you can see the white pixels around the dark lines, and you can also see that all the hair isn't colored, so from a banner standpoint I wouldn't have colored that. I like the main idea of the banner, the black and white then contrasted with the "Colors", its a very simple banner that was carried out well, especially with the hand drawn work. However stroke you put on the text and your character is a bit pixely. You can tel the ridges and how they don't flow the same way as the person does. It looks fine on the text, or at least better. I'm curious as to what program your using, because in some programs there are ways to do that without doing it manually, which seems like what you did. So just keep that in mind, there are a few free programs out there are definitely worth downloading! So as the first banner I see from you, its good, well done.
