My brother and I are thinking about purchasing a booster box around Christmas...

new stuff is generally worth more also, and more tradeable as more people are looking for it
also, rescue energy will be worth quite an amount as will hunter, blackbelt, twins, and lots of other cards in triumphant
 
And a lot of the cards in Triumphant are Rogue-able.

Marowak/Cubone, Victreebel, Magmortar (deck destruction?), Electrivire (I suppose?), etc etc...

I'll have a lot of fun playing the Rogue-able cards. I mean, FINALLY! PLAYABLE RARES! *cough SV AR RR HGSS UL UD... cough*
 
Get Triumphant. DON'T get Undaunted. It isn't worth the money. Platinum is good, but is over $100.00, and is nothing but SP. It is also going to get rotated.
 
Unfortunately, Undaunted isn't good. (Sorry Espeons!) I'd go Triumphant because of the hype in the cards. Everyone's mentioned Gengar Prime and Lost World, but I'd also select Triumphant because your other choices aren't as good. Rising Rivals is risky. Chances are low when you hope to get a Luxray GL LV.X. Supreme Victors has about ten cards that are playable. Nothing's great in PA except for Gengar LV.X, Expert Belt, the Cursegar and Spiritomb. (Maybe the Arceus are fine too.)
 
Yeh go with Triumphant, it is going to have lots of playable cards, such as Gengar Prime, Lost World, Hunter, recover energy, and any of those T/S/S would be so much fun to pull in reverse holo. Also it is going to be the newest set, therefore it will be in play for the longest out of all the sets listed and people will be looking to trade for the cards they need to complete the set, and you can get some quality cards for new primes. If you can't get Triumphant, Majestic Dawn, Rising Rivals, Platinum and Undaunted are all great sets as well. Also I wouldn't take a box of Arceus if someone gave it to me, the only cards I care about out of that set are Electrike # 63 and Trecko #78 and that is because I collect them. Stay as far away from Supreme Victors and Arceus as you can.
 
arceus is actually not bad. Gengar LV X, tomb, belt, and the arceus are actually very playable.
 
Spiritomb and Belt are League Promos though. Arcues is cheap to buy as singles and the odds of getting Gengar is low.

Get Triumphant. It's probably the best set since SF/PL.

Im not saying TO buy arceus, Im just saying it's not terrible. Triumphant all the way IMO.
 
actually, see if you are able to pre-order now
theres a few places on ebay and online like troll and toad where u can preorder for 85$ itll deff go up in value once its released
 
Personally, I would get Triumphant; I'm buying a box myself! The box is just so full of win; as Hikikomori-san said, the set has some pretty good rares! Along with Gengar, Mew, (maybe Magnezone), and Machamp Prime as well as Lost World, Black Belt, Twins, Rescue Energy, and so many others, you CAN'T deny that the set is full of win.

Get Triumphant. You WON'T regret it.
