I was reading online about this game and most critics hated it. I was hoping to use my Wii points card after my B-day/Confrimation party in march, but I do not want to waste my points. Is it a good game to get? Why or why not?

Well its nice for storage and stuff.
But them not updating it to use with platinum is a big set-back.
But it's only like 10 bucks.

definetly NOT! It has bad music, NO battling of any sort, and the "gift" you can get it provided by yourself. Also, Without Daimond or Pearl, the game (which is barley a game at all), is a big waste of time and money
~cool kid

If you have Diamond or Pearl and enough patience to load Ranch up with 1,000 Pokemon, it's a good way to get Mew without an event.

Remember though, it is not mainly used for an action game. It is only a mini-game you can store all your Pokemon in. Its only an extra to expand the merchandise.

Well, I actually haven't got the game, but I have seen videos of them. If you like animal-like games, then get it. This means, you can see the Pokemon bond with each other and you can get Pokemon like Mew and Phione if you store up to 999 Pokemon in the ranch. Personally, I think you might as well get it if you are questioning about it. If you are still stuck, watch some videos on Youtube.

Get it if you're running out of room, otherwise get something worth playing (Pokemon Rumble, LostWinds 2, NyxQuest, Megaman 9)

Considering that there's loads of other great Wii Ware titles waiting for you to download such as, Lost Winds 1/2, World of Goo, Pokemon Rumble, Final Fantasy: My Life As A Darklord and Contra Rebirth then I wouldn't get it.

You probably don't know what Pokemon Ranch is, I'll explain it to you: it's a another storage box that can hold up to 1,000 Pokemon. It has certain rewards if you import the right Pokemon from your DS, you can get rare Pokemon from it that have rare moves and items.

I still wouldn't buy it now that Wii Ware has so many brilliant games to offer, I guess it's a no.

Don't waste your money on this.

There's no reason you need to have anywhere near 1,000 Pokemon, since the game gives you more than enough space to hold at least 1 of every Pokemon. That's almost 500 spots, and there's still room to spare. Even for the breeders out there, that's plenty of room to store anything you could possibly want to keep.

Something else that I am surprised no one has mentioned: Ranch links up to your D/P file. If you export a Pokemon to Ranch and then erase your D/P file, that Pokemon is stuck in Ranch forever - you can never get it back.

If you want a Pokemon title, get Rumble. Download the demo first (if it's still available), it's free. It was a fun play, but I don't think it's worth $15 for the full game. You might, though.

As others have said, Virtual Console has LOADS of other games that would be a much better use of your money. Abandon this garbage and find something else.

Do you have any other suggestions that I would like? Does it have Melee or something like that on there?

Yeah don't waste your money. I don't have it but its terrible. I played it at my friend's house and it isn't good.
Althought it LOOKS good, it's not. Buy Pokemon Rumble. It PWNS.

GCN titles are not offered on Virtual Console, but it does have SSB 64. The only true Pokemon title on VC right now is Rumble, in WiiWare.
