I really want to know my secret ID, but I don't have an AR or a shiny to find it out with, but I heard that if I trade someone a pokemon they can find out my secret ID for me. Is this true and if so, can someone help me with it?
 
If you play on HG/SS, the Shiny Gyarados counts as a shiny. But other than that, I would just say use your pokeradar and try to find one.
 
It's true that people can find your SID for you if you trade with them. But they use questionable techniques to find it. If you're against that, then you have to be patient until you can find a shiny by yourself.
