1 Rotom Dex

Energy-12
10 Fairy Energy
2 Double Colorless

So here's the list I took to NAIC. I went 4-5. This deck is really really good against Espeon Garb. Too bad I didn't see a single Trashalanche in all nine matches.

Sylveon 4-3
3 Sycamore
4 Crushing
4 Puzzles
4 Fairy Drop
2 PCL
2 Lysandre
2 Kukui
4 Chaos Tower
1 Silent Lab
4 Delinquent
4 Red Card
2 VS
1 Max Potion
1 Field Blower
2 Flare Grunt
11 Fairy
2 DCE

I played a LOT of Sylveon last month, more than 200 matches. Sylveon has a lot of "holes" - for instance, turn 1 Hex is devastating, N can be disruptive, and decks that can get off huge OHKO attacks (Buulvolt, Rayquaza, and Magearna (weakness) being three that destroyed me at Nats). Also, if your opponent hammers off your Fairy energy, that can really put you in a tough position unless you can find another one. That's why I played three Sycamore. Chances are if I Sycamore, I'm going to get a Fairy energy. Getting turn 1 Fairy energy is absolutely essential.

My problem with the Eevees was that if you use an Eevee to get out a Flareon or Vaporeon, that's one less Sylveon you can have in the field. I found that I was continually choosing to get out another Sylveon over one of the Eeveelutions.

E Hammers I was using so rarely that I took them out altogether. Barely fifty percent of the decks I have been coming across run Special energy.

Max Potion I rarely used as well. I used Fairy drop a LOT though - right or wrong, a big part of my philosophy was to attack with Fairy Wind as much as possible.

Glad to see you found the Chaos Tower. That card devastates Espeon.

Team Rocket's I pulled out because it was only helping late game. I just wasn't playing it very much, but it is very good late, I just chose to use cards that would help me more early. That's part of the reason I only ran two VS Seekers.

I'd swap out the Wally for another Fairy energy.

Not sure how effective Sylveon will be post rotation. It loses Red Card, Flare Grunt, and VS Seeker. Red Card was a HUGE part of my strategy, losing Red Card is a big hit. Red Card, Stadium, Delinquent wins me a lot of games. If I can follow those three up with Torment Spray, that would be absolutely devastating, but I'm not sure how practical that is. Lysandre will simply be replaced by Guzma. Plumeria will probably replace Flare Grunt, and Muscle Dumbells might be worth trying as people seem to be running less and less Field Blowers. Puzzles will become even more valuable as they'll be the only way to get Supporters back. Losing Red Card though really hurts.

Red Card and flare grunt were both reprinyted in GEN and should not be rotating out... VS Seeker leaving might be beneficial as opponenets cannot N us 6-8 times a game like they have been, also no hex manaic and silent lab around will help as well, along with the addition of Plumeria next set.

Ah thanks for the correction Alpha. And you make excellent points, Hex and N are two of our worst enemies. Cool this almost makes me want to start playing Sylveon again... but not until next month;)

Ha yea for sure, I am stoked to play it next format, should be interestign. Got to deal with metagross still but the rotation went about as good as it good for Sylveon to be competitive next format.

Hey Sylveon players just wondering what you guys think of the Red Card, Stadium, Delinquent, and NOW Torment Spray combination? Do you think it's realistically possible? Do you think we'll be able to string ALL of those cards together often enough to make Torment Spray worth playing?

I am wanting to give it a try. I have often been able to get red card and delinquent off, but the majority of the time that last card is an N or Sycamore. Torment spray cpuld definitly help as well with VS Seeker leaving it could be very helpful. Id start playing 2 copies and see how it plays out.

Yeah I used that combo like 20 times at Nats. It seemed like I would red card, stadium, delinquent and they would always have a sycamore or N left as the last card. Having torment spray would be the final piece we're missing, the last thing that we need. I had written in another posting that it seemed like Sylveon was missing just one more disruption card, and I think Torment Spray is that card. Really excited for rotation with this deck.

Yea that kept happening to me at The Madison Regs.. I think torment spray will, along with Plumeria. Really think if we can find away to slow Metagross wed be in good shape..contemplating using 2 Wobbuffett to negate ability and thanks to guzma will be easy to rotate out when needing to magical ribbon.
