I have a theory about N found through observation.

Red Circles: Futuristic accessories
Blue Circles: Retro clothing
Green cirle: Modern hair.

My conclusion: N IS A TIME TRAVELER!

this is actually the first believable/ok theory about N. (N IS NOT A POKEMON)
i could see this happening because maybe in the future pokemon and humans are having a war but he comes back too stop the war and is not doing it right and is just putting the world in more danger?
 
that seems likely! why else wouldnt N want pokemon and people to be friends? Unless he went to the past and met a hippie who told him to.
 
Maybe he uses this ability to assist/take down Team Plasma with secrets of Pokemon? Best theory I've seen so far!
 
Ok here is my story of your idea.
N is from the future where pokemon and Humans are having a war. reshiram and Zekrom in the future have turned the world too black and white. N comes back to make them trust humans and finds TP as the good guys since they want too free pokemon so he joins them too find reshiram and Zekrom. He finds them and makes things worse and in the future the world has turned from black and whit too a misty black and white. N keeps on making it worse. u try to stop N from terrorizing the world by catching 1 of the legendary's. N get's mad and challenges u. He catches steals/catches the pokemon not in your version. U battle him. It changes the story depending on if u win or lose. If u win n runs away thinking U have disrupted the future. if u lose he runs away and makes everything worse.
Then the rest i don't know but I am promoting the after E4 storyline.

Note: this is why High Link is black and white. because High Link is the time portal!
 
So, if this is correct, then that also proves the theory that White it staged in the past, and Black in the future!

^^^ And this would prove that Black City was built where White Forest used to be, as they are in the same location.

This theory has been tossed around multiple times (hi Zero), and it's one of my favorite ones. I could definitely see N being a time traveler.

EPIPHANY: Maybe...N wants to free Pokemon from their trainers because he has gone into the future and saw a world of terror and despair because of trainer's selfish actions, and N is so horrified by the witnissed events that he returns to the present time to save everyone from what could be, unfortunately going mad with power alond the way.

It needs to be brushed up a little bit but just a little thought.

Edit: Oh wow. Rockinpikachu basically said the same thing. LOL good theories nonetheless :D
Edit2: So I actually read everyones posts now. This thread = win. I never thought of Black = future and White = past. So black city could be the future of white forest O_O AHH. If this is the case, I might be buying both games. Which isn't good because I REALLY don't need to spend another $35 D:

...then again, you'd think we'd already know about a past/future thing being exclusive to each game o_O I'm sticking to my original theory.

I think that rubix cube could be what be N uses to travel because he might twist it to set the time and date and finally Rockinpikachu might i ad maybe N takes the second legendary and battles you with the one you have.
 
WOW, this makes so much sense, these are so far the best theories I have heard of and they all fit in perfectly. I really hope these are true. :D

But... if Black and white are in different times, why is Araragi, Makomo, Cheren, Beru and White/black there? Wouldn't they have died or at least gotten (much) older? I made my brain hurt
 
id always thought that black and white took place in different universes, not different times....
the whole idea about time traveling is a good idea...that why it wont happen, its too good for gf, gf is known for having pretty crappy ideas, ex:"DAR IMA GUNNA FLOOD DA URTH TOMAEK MOER WOTTUR FUR DA POKERMANZ, AND HYOOMANZ WILL HAVE NO WAIERS TOO LIV, DERP DA DERPA DERPY DOO!". and what does the high link have to do with anything?!?!?! its the new gts, not a time travel devise!!! what are you talking about!?!?!?

Yeah, major plot hole right there.
Even if they don't take place in past/future, N's theory still kicks grass.

And @Playerking95: yeah, I agree with the Rubix cube, Zero was saying something about that and it was really cool.
 
Thist just occured to me. If this was a time-travelling idea, then wouldn't you have more modern clothes in Black and more primitive clothes in White?
