Hey guys, I'm pretty new to Pokemon TCG, and me and my friends are just getting into it. I'm trying this out as my main deck. However I kinda just threw this together with a lot of the trainers being cards I already had, after I was intimidated by the price.. So I'm trying to improve it, after I've played with it a good amount I can already see a lot of things I need to change about it, but I was wondering the opinion of more seasoned players. As well I was wondering what I need to do to update this to standered format. Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

(Please don't say I should improve this by including tapu lele's, I don't have that kind of money...)

Edit: One thing I did forget to ask is the possibility of adding Kiawe and TurnonatorGX, I always did feel like this deck was quite slow and needed some stall, of course that might change with the edits but I was just wondering your opinion on those 2 cards

Let's see, you've got a lot of evolving to do, so you probably want to add in Vulpix from GUR. It can attack for now energy and get out Pokemon. This is very good with the XY delphox, as doing this evolving process will also net you more draw power in addition to firepower. I recommend 2, as you might need a lot of time to set up with this deck.

The Houndoom EX doesn't strike me as very much needed. Although you have the option of milling or recycling energy, your main goal is to be attacking with Delphox or Salazzle. Houndoom's attack does not output enough damage for what it is worth, so it would be good to drop it.

Likewise, this isn't a disruption deck. Team skull grunt isn't exactly necessary either.

I reccomend swapping out Lysandre with Guzmas if you can get them.

You definitely want to get more draw supporters - 2 N and 2 Sycamore won't cut it. If you can get your hands on 4 Cynthia, I believe it will be worthwhile. They are definitely going to drop soon (probably apiece), so be on the lookout.

If you can't afford Tapu Lele GX, even though it is the best card ever known to existence, you can always try a more mediocre Shaymin EX or Jirachi EX. However, it is much more of a bench liability.

Judge isn't really necessary. Cynthia and N are much better for the job.

Try to include some Super Rod (BKT), as they are critical for recovering Pokemon and Energy late game. With this in mind, you might be able to drop energy count to 8 or 9.

That's all I have to say for now. I think the deck idea at it's core is decently strong, but it might be hard to keep up with some of the big decks.

Hi, cool idea.

So to get you better search options, use 4x Ultra Ball being the best Pokemon search card in the game, so I would take out all the one of Pokemon search cards.

Instead of Judge I would play a Cynthia, or another N or Sycamore because Judge isn't a very good draw supporter.

Instead of the Lysanders and the Counter catcher I would Play some Guzmas becuase they are way better than that other stuff.

Instead of the Team flare Grunt, one Blacksmith, and the Enhanced hammer I would play 2 Choice band and a Float stone to help get a higher damage output and getting free retreat.

At this point I have just decided to show you the changes because typing everything will take to long.

-1 Level ball (Same as timer ball seen below)
-1 Timer ball (Ultra ball is better)
-1 Houndoom EX (Not needed)
-1 Judge (Not very good)
-1 Team skull Grunt (Bad card)
-1 Enhanced Hammer (Not needed)
-2 Lysandre (Guzma is better)
-1 Counter catcher (Not needed)
-2 Blacksmith (2 Is all you need/4 is not necessary)
-1 Professor's letter (Not needed)
-1 Pokemon fan club (Bridgette is better)

+4x Ultra Ball (SUM) (Great Pokemon search)
+2x Guzma (BUS) (Better than Lysandre)
+2x Choice Band (GAR) (Up damage against EX and GX Pokemon)
+1 Float stone (BTH) (Get free retreat)
+2 Cynthia (ULP) (Great draw support)
+1 Bridgette (BTH) (Better than Poke fan club)
+1 Volcanion (STS) (Accelerates energy from the discard)

These changes make the deck a lot more consistent and more competitive, playing some way better cards in your deck.

Hope I helped :).

Both Lele's and Biff's suggestions are great! Here are my suggestions, should you choose to accept:

-Houndoom EX = +Turtornator GX
- Flareon EX = +Turtornator GX
- 2 XY Delphox = +2 Fates Delphox (stronger attacker and XY Delphox's ability isn't needed with the added draw support of Sycamore, N, Cynthia, etc)
- Level Ball = +Ultra Ball
- Teammates = +Kiawe
- 2 Lysandre = +2 Guzma (more control of the board)
-Pokemon Fan Club, Judge = +2 Brigette (better for looking for basics)
- 2 Blacksmith = +2 Sycamore (I agree with @biffthepotato , you only really need 2 Blacksmith)
- Energy Retrieval = + Super Rod or Rescue Stretcher (Energy Retrieval is kinda redundant in this deck if you already run 2 Scorched Earth)
- Timer Ball = + Ultra Ball
- Counter Catcher = +Enhanced Hammer (if you want to disrupt your opponent. Plus Guzma replaces counter catcher)
- Skull Grunt = + Acerola (returns a Pokemon with any damage to your hand, very useful)

*Hope these helped! -AA

So I had some time so I messed with the list a little bit, Now the list has some actual backbone to it, But there's still a couple of things that need to figure out.
I'm considering adding 1 TurntanaorGX and a couple of choice bands, but I'm not sure what to get rid of.

Since most games you want to rare candy anyways, I would drop the Evosoda and one of the Braixen. You could probably also cut the Counter Catcher. While you probably do drop prizes early, since it's a stage 2 deck, which inherently makes it slower, the single copy just feels too unreliable. You definitely don't want to up the count of counter catcher, so I'd just remove the one in there. One last recommendation would be to cut the Teammates. I can't blame you for wanting to play teammates. If you draw it, you could sacrifice something worthless like a lone Fennekin and then pop off next turn. However, it's the same problem as counter catcher. It's kinda gimmicky, and won't consistently manage to do much for you.

With these 4 op[en slots, I would recommend putting in one more Skyla. Skyla is one of the most consistent cards in the game, but you get the consistency at the sacrifice at the cost of a bit of speed. However, when you have low counts of Skyla, it's like you're incredibly consistent inconsistently (if that makes any sense). I'd up the count to 3. With the next three spaces there are two things you could do. If you have any VS Seeker, that's an obvious one. If you don't have any/really want to make it a Standard deck, you can put in a Turtonator GX and two Choice Band.

Summary of suggestions:
-1 Evosoda
-1 Braixen
-1 Counter Catcher
-1 Teammates

+1 Skyla
+3 VS Seeker (or +1 Turtonator GX and +2 Choice Band)

I hope this helps, and welcome to the Pokemon TCG!

Oh, and this is to Tapu Lele. Are you sure that Tapu lele GX is the most powerful card EVER? What about Cleffa, Power Spray, or Great Encounters Claydol? All of these, especially the Claydol, I would say were at least as powerful.
