Needs Some Help

About 2 days ago I attempted to make a Userbar, here are my first two attempts.
Please tell me what you think, some words of criticism would be nice as well.
I had a hard time on the text.

1st Attempt:

Pretty good, but don't outline the sprite. It doesn't make it look too good, as you can see in the Leafeon one. Also, for the fusion, stick with colors that blend in with the sprite. Using yellow and blue doesn't blend in with your current sprite. Perhaps stick with Red and yellow, or warm colors.
 
Yeah, like Gliscor said, dont outline the Leafeon. I like the Background bar for the Dragonite Moonpix. Good Job.
 
As many people have commented about not putting a outline on Leafeon would be great to improve on. I think you did a good job, but for some reason I don't quite like the color of the Leafeon userbar. =\
 
I think you'll improve if you keep practicing and reading what people have to say about your userbars. This is a very nice attempt, and the I got to say that you have improved quite a bit on the second attempt.

Ok, made a similar one but with warm colors and took out the drop shadow on the lettering.
