While we don't have Jewel Caterpillars—what Snom was based on—in my part of the world, this one sure looks icy!

Also, I was starting to think that sphinx caterpillars were going to evade me all year, but I finally found one!

I doubt I'll be getting much more this year, but here's a newbie from a couple nights ago: Pavlovski's Monopis Moth

A member of the clothes moth family introduced from Asia. Its caterpillars feed on fur and feathers.

What the what!?

I found this last April but, assuming it was another one of those little azure butterflies I'm never able to catch with open wings, never bothered uploading it. I'm just now realizing that it's a moth—a Bluish Spring Moth!

Got this neat little guy/gal last night: the Iron-Lined Olethreutes. Shame it wasn't the related The Astronomer because that common name is so cool!

Got this cute Goldcap Moss-Eater Moth night before last. It's so tiny! And that purple and gold sheen...!

This species usually doesn't come to lights, but I'm glad this one did because I doubt I would've spotted it out in the wild.

Also got an American Bird's Wing:

Found my first scoopwing moth a couple days ago, but my flash spooked it before I could get a pic. I was so disappointed! Another newbie showed up last night though, a Salt Marsh Moth, and I barely managed to snap a decent shot before it disappeared.
