As we revealed last month, there will be a new set of “ex Battle Decks” releasing February 23rd.
It’s now been revealed they’ll feature Melmetal ex or Houndoom ex from Obsidian Flames! They will cost $9.99 each. They’ll have the same configuration as previous ex Battle Decks.

ok but by ex battle deck viability, I know these two are mid ex's but Morpeko & Revroom Are
Nice :D

These are the first Battle Decks with straight reprints instead of Black Star Promos. Good for collectors not to have worry about these products. That said though, they still have non-holo exclusives. We can see from back that they have 2 each.

Is Melmetal a fan favorite? it did get a V battle deck in Go i belive.
I don’t think so, but it’s the only Pokémon introduced through Pokémon GO. This directly explains its inclusion in the Pokémon GO set (and the theme deck from said set), but it also makes it the only Pokémon that Pokémon GO fans can cherish as their own in the same way that, say, one of the first players to experience Sinnoh can cherish Garchomp as their own.

I just realized a couple of days ago that Let’s Go Eevee (You’ll want to hear this, @PMJ, I saw you saying Let’s Go was S-tier) is a reference to four different Pokémon stories: Pokémon Red and Green/Blue, Pokémon The Series (through recurring Pokémon Yellow Version content), Pokémon Adventures (through the three postgame trainers), and Pokémon GO! And yet it goes on to reference even MORE Pokémon games with Mina (and all the Alolan forms) from Sun and Moon making appearance and Mega Evolution returning. Combine this with all new characters like the protagonist, rival, Mr. Dazzling (the move deleter’s alter ego) and The Rocket Sisters (who inexplicably replace The Rocket Brothers), the brand new GO Park (which admittedly falls under the Pokémon GO reference category), and references to Pokémon Quest in the Celadon Game Corner, and you have quite a lineup of source material, easter eggs, and original cameos!

It’s a shame Melmetal ex sucks. Love Melmetal, one of my favorite Pokémon to come out of last gen, but its stupid “mythical” status meant I could never run it in VGC, and the tcg can’t give a good one to build with. Sigh…

Lucario & Melmetal GX is the best Melmetal we have had so far. However, for what it’s worth, Melmetal from Fusion Strike is playable in Gym Leader Challenge.

These are not the first battle decks with straight reprints instead of promos, since scarlet & violet sets started there have been many like this. Wish they would make em all promos but my opinion is biased

I'm referring to the Lv1 Battle Decks. These are the first ones with straight reprints.

Let's Go is the perfect marriage of main series and Pokemon GO. The entire game looks and sounds beautiful. It is piss easy (even by Pokemon standards) but it is still S tier. We really need a new and polished version of this series.

Also I will forever believe that Meltan's release in Pokemon GO was unintentional.

Whats even the point with these decks? Both Exs are already present other sets, and neither is particularly good. Unless you're gifting one to a kid who likes one of these pokemon, I don't see the point.
