According to a few Pokemon sites, there is news that a new Pokemon game will be released in 2015. It is centered around a detective who travels with a Pikachu to solve mysteries. There will also be contact with a talking blue Pikachu and an evil pikachu.
What are y'alls thoughts on this? I'm not listing the sites because I'm not sure if it is allowed.
Personally, I love mysteries and this seems like the perfect game for me. It also reminds me of the Looker Bureau part of X&Y.
I'm not surprised at all, but I still find it kind of unoriginal. They use Pikachu for almost everything; why not give a less-advertised Pokemon the spotlight for once?

Because if they used a less popular Pokemon, it wouldn't click with the general population that it's a Pokemon game (since it's not even a main series title either), even if it had Pokemon logos plastered all over it.
I feel you though, I get tired of Pikachu too - but I doubt they would ever do that. I don't think Pikachu fits in a 'detective' like game. It's just weird.
Would an Eevee have been preferred? They used it for Conquests. It also has some name recognition. What Pokemon would be best for uncovering mysteries? Growlithe or another dog Pokemon? Alakazam or another psychic Pokemon?

They already used it for Conquests, so do you think they'd use it again? I would imagine a dog Pokemon, or a psychic Pokemon for a detective game. Pikachu just seems too silly for a detective game.
please don't suck please don't suck please don't suck--
dangit, Pikachu is a main character. hopes = dashed
In all seriousness, I think it's a hoax, much like that Pokken Fighters thing. Pokemon never does anything out of its comfort zone, ever. I'll believe it when I see an official press release.

How do I know? because it stars the yellow rat.
Detective stuff is at its best with dark, deep and gritty plots, characters, and above all, actions; detectives deal (or should deal) with murders, robberies, etc. Look at the crime reconstructions off Batman origins (which were cool, but not so much detective-ish, or LA noire. Pokemon would never put pikachu in a game with such characteristics, so it's more than likely that this game will follow the lighthearted, preschool-like pokepark series. The yellow rat is never good news for us older fans. Oh, and he's not alone this time, there is a blue pikachu (god dammit, GF, really?a blue pikachu?) and an evil pikachu, because they have 718 pokemon and still they had to put in not one, but three f*******g pikachus.
The looker bureau is pretty good; although the detective work is pretty much "guess where in lumiose shit is happening", the narrative and the character development are a step up from the regular story, and looker and emma feel like real characters, like bianca and cheren were in BW. but you don't see a f******* pikachu in the story of the looker bureau.
This is how a good pokemon detective story should go:
"It was a dark, stormy night. Me and my partner, gardevoir, were drinking our usual 10:00 ginger ale, preceding our usual 9:30 ginger ale, while reading the latest criminal reports and discussing who would win in a fight, a roided up bruce lee or a midget batman (we were agreeing on batman), when we hear a noise; and a figure opens the door to our office... a tall figure, shrouded in darkness... suddenly, a faint glint is seen... the unmistakable gleam of a remoraid.
The bullet seed loudly cuts through the air, while gardevoir and I valiantly dive/teleport behind our couch, ready to strike back at our unknown foe with all our might, when... silence. The assailant was gone. Gardevoir wanted to chase him, but it was of no consequence; we knew who was behind the hit... It seemed our paths would cross again... But this time, it would be our last dance... Tierno."
I've been thinking of making it a series, I'd call it "garde-noir, PI"
And is this the part where I say that, based on your screenshots alone, that the Phoenix Wright series is infinitely better?
It's not exactly that I don't want it to happen. I honestly don't care. But I don't see how that game could do well at all anyway, much less get a localization outside of Japan.
And there was a lone screenshot of Pokken Fighters, so I'm not sure how your claim is any more valid.
