New Format?

Hey everyone. You probably don't remember me but I was fairly active on this forum a few months ago. Then I left the game and I'm considering getting back into it a little next season. So I have a few basic questions.

1. Do we know the format for next season yet?

2. What's the current metagame (if you were at nats and could list the decks you played with/against too that would be great).

3. Are there any good articles on here on the gym that could help me get back into things (on any new decks introduced with this latest set or on the metagame in general).

Thanks.

100th post ever. YAY!!!

Typhlosionwolf pretty much summed it up (sadly)

LuxChomp dominates and will continue to.
Sablelock won Nationals.
Kingdra Prime and Jumpluff are as speedy as ever.
Flyphan is still very popular.
I expect Gyarados to see some new life.
I expect a HUGE Machamp return after Unown G rotates and Machamp Prime comes out (Machamp Prime Lv.X!)
Gengar Prime when it comes out. End of sentence.

The rotation is Majestic Dawn on.

Ok thanks. Some followup questions. Who won with Sabelock (out of curiosity)? And more importantly, what is Sableock?

Con Le won with Sablelock in Masters. Sablelock is a deck that uses Sableye SF, Honchkrow G, and Garchomp C as it's main attackers. If you get a Sableye start but can't donk with it, you use impersonate to lock your opponent with Judge or Cyrus's Initiative. Con Le's version of the deck also had a 1-1 Honchkrow SV line.

Sabelock is a deck that uses Sableye SF as a start to either Donk by using Overconfident, Discard cards in your opponents hand by using Impersonate for Cyrus's Initiative or can use judge for disruption or can set up by using Pokemon Collector or Cyrus's Conspiracy. Then you can either keep your opponent in a lock by using Giritina "Let Loose", Judge and Cyrus's Initiative or you can snipe the bench using Honchkrow G and Garchomp C Lv.X.

In seniors, Mike Diaz won with LuxChomp. In Juniors, hipoke (from PokeBeach) won with Cursegar.

Hey!

Havent talked to you in forever!

LuxChomp Sableye and Jumpluff are the three biggest decks, Plox is getting big but that will be gone. FlyPhan is nowhere, IDK why somene mentioned that earlier and ERL is probably the next luxray.

BTW, AIM or Hamichi me, I miss talking to you!

@Pokekid: I don't have hamachi anymore because the computer it was on is messed up. But I have AIM now. What's your name on AIM?

I'm pretty sure hipoke actually won with Mother Gengar, not Cursegar.
