Most of the new pokemon that have been revealed have poor detail and look plane, for example munna just has plan flowers on it and shimama just has stripes on it they look like they came right from a coloring book which is dissapointing.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK

You're entitled to your own opinion, obviously, but I disagree. I think the 5th gen designs are among the best ones yet tbh. I'm easy though when it comes to the designs, I mean I care about them now more than I did when I was a kid, but it still isn't that much of a big deal to me :p. I am, however, glad that the designs are looking more "natural" again, because I could see what people meant about the 4th gen pokemon looking too complicated and 'stupid'. It does feel as though GF are giving the new monsters a retro feel, which is a good thing :). The legendaries look extremely detailed, yet simple at the same time.

Go ahead and blame simplicity.

I hate these threads. I could've sworn u have made this same thread before. Pokemon are always original

Electrode too! I think the colour schemes are more diverse this generation, and you have to remember a lot of the pokemon are base stage pokemon too. They'll have more detail as they evolve.

I like simpler pokemon. e.g. the 1st gen pokemon. The 5th gen is much more cartoony and have more detail i think than ever before. I don't really dislike it just takes getting used to.

I don't get this. When Zekrom and Reshiram were first revealed, people were complaining about how detailed they were. Now people are complaining that the other new pokemon don't look detailed enough. WHAT COULD MAKE YOU PEOPLE HAPPY? (Sorry for the Caps Lock) I'm not the only one to notice this either. Anyway, I personally really like the new pokemon how they look.

I agree with Hooner. As a player from the first gen, I am not liking them that much. There is a scale, plain, normal, above normal, too much. It isn't that they are too plain, it is that they are too much.

Finally, someone who agrees with me. :D
Lolz really?Pokeball,Chewed gum,a black ball with sum smoke and face and a...brown thinghy with face...THOSE are the one that look from a notebook.

Well first of all I don't think a Pokemon with less details is lame. The creators of the game don't want to reveal much things about the game or Pokemon because they don't want to spoil us at the moment with tons of information prior to the game/Pokemon. Pokemon that are first revealed don't tend to have much information until later. I think that, that is perfectly fine. I don't really care at first if they give information about the Pokemon that just released because I know that they don't want to reveal a lot of information about the Pokemon because it is either too early or they don't want to spoil us the information at the moment.

Lol,zebras have stripes...Its not like they must put shimama spots, spirals, etc. And Munna isn't that bad...GEEZ,really why some people don't look at the old Pokemon? Some look WAAAAAAAAAAAAY LAME....(COUGHCOUGHDITTOCOUGHCOUGH)

EDIT:Sigh,im tired of these threads.>_> I know people have their opinions, but let's look at the good side of the Pokemon and not criticzise it when we first see it...I mean:"LOLZ GEAR IS SO UNCREATIVE,GEARS WITH FACES?" Look at Voltorb...I like it,but its design isn't great. "LOLZ YANAPPU LOOKS JUST LIKE AIPOM WITH A BROCOLLI ON ITS HEAD" There isn't anything wrong with that...PEOPLE ARE SOO EXIGENT,and I hate it when they are like that. -.- Its because people want something perfect almost EVERY SINGLE TIME,if you tell me."I want this perfectly good,I want that perfectly good." And sometimes they complain about something over-perfect:"LOLZ RESHIRAM AND ZEKROM LOOK LIKE DIGIMON BLAH BLAH BLAH"...I hope they don't let threads like this post too oftenly. And besides, every true Pokemon Fan likes every Pokemon no matter what...

This, basically. Detail (or lack thereof) is not what makes a Pokemon lame. Just look at many of the Pokemon mentioned above, such as Gastly, Ditto, Voltorb, ect.

you totally dont get the fact that the pokemon that were shown so far are bacis/baby/no evo. a pokemon will get more detailed as it evolves (ie kibago into onoukoso).

munna is based on a japanese thing that emits smoke that has to do with dreaming and it does have flowers on it. shimama is a zebra so stripes are ok. im sure itll get some lightning zigzags or something unless gamefreak pulls a girafarig on us. and i mean to the maker of this thread

When the whole list of pokemon are finally released, they'll be a lot of simple designs, but also a lot of complex and great designed pokemon. That's just the balance of any season. I believe someone said that they were releasing pokemon with simple designs so much won't be revealed and I can't agree more.

Just wait, more amazing pokemon will be on their way. I love having simple designs, but complete ones are awesome too. The ones already created are some of my favourites. :)
