new tcgs!?!

The new Dragon Ball CCG is pretty much doomed at this point. Bandai hasn't put a set 6 into production due to set 5 not reaching sales expectations. Most believe it'll make it until about GenCon for a final crossover with Naruto and that's it. Most players have already quit the game from previous set delays and a lack of hope. It's sadly become a lost cause.

Problem I see with Battle Spirits is that Yu-Gi-Oh! is still as popular as ever despite the game's flaws, heck one of my local hobby stores had these "Duel Terminals" or Arcade machines where you could play Yu-Gi-Oh! cards on the machine like as If you were playing a video game, weird eh?

Bakugan: Battle Brawlers despite being a Jacks/Marble esque game which is unpopular, the Anime series for it is as much of a huge hit as Pokemon currently is. 12 Seasons and still going for Pokemon though, but If the Battle Spirits Anime/Manga series does pick up in the U.S. I'm sure the game would of been more popular yet still they did the same thing with Duel Masters and it flopped after awhile.

In order for certain new TCG's to do well they need a strong following or good source material that will gather people's interest into playing it, Score Entertainment used to be pretty good at this for awhile until they got out of control after the Dragonball Z/GT TCG (no Re-Z) then went out of business after Bleach.

are you talking about the old dragonball tcg or the new dragonball ccg? cause theres the new dragonball ccg by bandai. I use to play that when it first came out until the second set then just stopped playing due to lack of time. it was actually really fun but there werent enough players around my area to keep up the interest. gameplay is really similiar to naruto

The Old Dragonball TCG by Score, the good one. Bandai's version was horrible cause it lacked the game mechanics and playstyle of what made the Score version a success that felt true to the original Anime/Manga series.

That's because due to the economic downturn Bandai couldn't afford to keep 3 CCG's around so they decided to drop Dragonball for Battle Spirits and Naruto which are Bandai's best sellers right now, at one of my local hobby store's Naruto seems to be losing it's playerbase in the Midwest and I don't know If it's still popular in So Cal or not but alot of the good Naruto CCG players dropped the game except for Zero, Matthewlow (former Score Dragonball TCG player) and Tsu Kiyo Me.

So ive been hearing that yugioh is coming back at my local card shops, they got tournaments going again. idk if its even worth getting back into, i mean the last time i played was like 3 years ago. any yugi motos here, what you guys think is the game still fun?

I really miss Duel Masters. It was a tad basic, but the dub of the anime was hilarious (and was parodying card games years before Abridged) and the art and ideas in the cards were pretty neat. I played a Light deck.

Mecha del Sol is still one of the coolest names for a class of creatures/monsters/et cetera ever.

Duel Masters was AMAZING. I really hope to see it come back someday. I absolutely love the game and really would like to tournament in it again.

I love Battle Spirits as well. Hopefully that will take off when the Anime gets translated. The cards are beautiful and the mechanics awesome. I ran a Diamond/Amethyst control deck that was pretty neat.

I've gotten into Fight Klub by Decipher. It's a movie-based game and is downright awesome, plays in 15 minutes and nice and cheap. You can only buy it in $30 boxes called Kilos and you're guaranteed 1 of every Uncommon and Common in each box. I play the Jigsaw Killer in it right now. Pretty much the game is like who would win in a fight, Rambo or Chuck Norris? What's not to like about that? (Do me a favor--If a door pops up when you google it, put my user name in the door)

Yeah, it's just really difficult for companies to get new games going right now. Between the economic downturn, and the amount of players already committed to games currently doing well, launching a new TCG (without a really strong backing) is just a bad move.

Be nice If it wasn't a bad move though, cause despite only 3-4 popular TCG/CCG's out right now (Magic, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Battle Spirits, and Naruto) there's really not much to choose from besides playing dead TCG/CCG's that no longer have any Organized Play support or Sanctioned events. Games like Marvel/DC Vs. System (Upper Deck), The Original Dragonball Z/GT TCG (Score), Harry Potter TCG, Star Wars (Decipher), and Duel Masters (WoTC).

We need a new company like Score Entertainment but organized like WoTC for new Anime/Manga oriented TCG's that are garaunteed to have a strong backing for them, One Piece is a good example even though Bandai failed with it once when everyone was stuck on the Naruto hype. With Anime/Manga being more mainstream in the U.S. than it was years ago it's hard nowadays cause the U.S. media are split with different series as it's not geared to just Shonen Jump series anymore like Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragonball and people are branching out with what they like.

There was a Sailor Moon TCG that plays alot like the Pokemon TCG back when it came out a long time ago, but it's pretty much as dead as most of Bandai's other card games especially Score's as well. I'm thinking what Konami should do with the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG despite the possibility of player backlash is scrap the TCG and re-invent it to where it has a resource system and it's as balanced as Magic at least, sure players would lose money on cards but If they gave a balanced version of the game a chance it might make a difference but that's like rewriting a decade's worth of effort just to fix and balance a TCG from the get-go which would be a bad idea yet again.

I'd be nice If the Fight Klub TCG was popular in my area but most TCG's from Decipher
don't do too well. Battle Spirits should've already had an Anime English dub to compete against Bakugan: Battle Brawlers and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's which are hurting the franchise's success in the U.S. the way I'm seeing things. Bakugan isn't even a card game yet the show is just as popular with kids as Pokemon currently.

I've been thinking about getting back into playing Yu-Gi-Oh! to try to get more people into the TCG Genre, however the sad truth of the matter and regarding the popularity of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise itself with the Anime/Manga series is that it just doesn't have the same appeal that it once had 7-8 years ago. Why do we have a stupid spin-off with duelists riding on motorcycles just to play cards? Why did the 5D's series have to blow the ideal and aspect of the series out of proportion compared to GX and the Original series which was the highlight of the franchise? That's what I don't get.

I play Maple story a bit its ok kind of confusing at times and to get started to learn all the rules and what to do is pretty easy once you know hat you doing its very fun, its also pretty cheap.

I never really got into Maple Story, however me and some of my other friends are thinking about getting back into Dragonball Z/GT TCG (Score). I still got my 2 decks on me incase anyone wants to play and no I don't play the Online version at TopTierGaming.com...
