ORAS New Teams for Gym Leaders / Elite Four

I'm all for Mega Dusknoir because they honestly need to have more Gen IV and V Megas this time around!

I do have one question? do you think they will change of the pokemon teams in the elite four and Pokemon gyms? like what if the first time you face roxanne she has a Nosepass and instead of geodude she has a carbink/cranidos/rogenrolla (mispelled it big time)? does anyone think this will happen?

The kind of changes you're referring to hinge on them adding Pokemon to the Hoenn Dex, and at this point I'd say it's unlikely that they're going to add any Pokemon besides cross gen evos. I don't think we'll be seeing those kinds of Pokemon until post game rematches.

Also, Carbink and Cranidos would be poor choices, Cranidos was Roark's main, so they're probably not going to reuse it, and Carbink has utterly absurd Defense and Special Defense and would be unreasonable for the 1st gym battle.

I'm hoping that they'll keep the leaders/elite four as challenging as they were in the orginals.
Three Pokemon per gym in XY made me feel as if they really weren't a challenge at all, they were just another trainer to pass by.

I'm replaying Emerald and again (the first time was with my first playthrough) I think the gym leaders are harder in that than S/R so aside from the new teams (Pokémon not native to Hoenn or previously not included in the Hoenn Pkdex) that this thread is about, I hope that they give them the difficulty (and teams) from Emerald and not the ones from S/R.

It has been officially confirmed, via CoroCoro, that Phoebe will have a dusknoir on her team. It will presumably be her ace, but the level and her other team members are not confirmed. Watson is confirmed to have a magneton, presumably as his ace. This shows that the teams will likely stick to that of Ruby and Sapphire, rather than Emerald. Other than that, the presumed aces stay the same.
Roxanne - Nozepass
Brawly - Makuhita
Flannery - Torkoal
Norman - Slaking
Sidney - Shiftry

Sidney's main was originally Absol, not Shiftry.

I didn't know that. I wonder why that is the pokemon shown in CoroCoro. Maybe it gets a mega.
