This thread is a contest that combines decklist competitions with spoiler competitions. This is a new thing I'm trying out, and I hope it's a success. For now , there are no prizes. I will accept 10 competitors and 2 judges, not counting myself.
Rules: For each round, there will be pairs of people. I will choose these randomly. One person will make a card that fits the requirements for the round. I will judge the card based on these areas:
1. Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation: If your cards are properly set up and have proper spelling. (Worth 5 points)
2. Overpowered/Underpowered: If the card is broken, or just can't be used effectively, you'll get a low score. Try to make a card that's just a little overpowered, on the Tier 1/2 scale. (Worth 10 points)
3. Originality: Is the card just a sightly different version of Kingdra, or is it a new kind of card no one's seen before? If it's original, you'll get a good score. (Worth 10 points)
4. Use: Is the card useable in the deck for what the round needs it to be? Or is it a main attacker that's used for drawpower? make sure the card does what it's supposed to do. (Worth 5 points)
Metagame: How does the card do in the DP-RR format? Does it safely defend against Gallades and get prizes, or just sit on the bench and be sniped by Gengars? Make the card useful please. (Worth 5 points)
So you can get up to 35 points when making a card. Now, the other person makes a deck with that card in it, using it for what it's for. Here's what the deck gets judged on:
1. Effectiveness: Is the deck capable of winning tournaments? Or is it on par with theme decks? Try to make a deck that's as good as the card allows. (Worth 10 points)
2. Use: Are you using the card for what is was supposed to be used for? Or are you using an intended main attacker as a 1-1 tech for slight backup? Try to use the card as it should be used. (Worth 5 points)
3. Metagame: How can the deck do against the Metagame? Does it counter everything in sight, or only beat Beedrill? Try to make a deck that can beat a variety of other decks. (Worth 10 points)
4. Originality: How creative is the deck? Is it a typical SP deck, or an incredible rouge that no one has counters for? The more original, the better. (Worth 10 points)
Again, 35 points. At the end of each round, the lowest score from each category is disqualified. When 2 people are left, I'll make a card for them to make a deck from. The highest score wins. So let's get stated!
Entrances are accepted until 6/12.
