Honestly why didn't Black and White have mammals for Cover Legends. We have never gotten Mammals on the cover unless you count Lugia as one but it is more likely a bird.

I mean Black Screams a Armored Black Bear and White a Kiyubi am I right?

Well, I guess according to GameFreak mammals don't cut it.
And why do they have to have Legendaries as cover Pokemon?
They could have made an awesome Ursaring evo or something for the cover.

Or for that matter, Red, Blue, and Green? Well these are non legendary covers. Yellow was a rat, so that is a mammal.

I don't think their is a no mammal rule, it probably just comes down to what the main legendaries are.

But there has been a mammal on a pokemon game cover before. Say hello Suicune. Whether you call it a Legendary Beast or Dog, it is a mammal.

So we have had two mammal's grace the cover of Pokemon games, Pikachu and Suicune.

Kyogre is kind of a whale. Whales are mammals.

Well technically since it is based off the Leviathan we can go either way. Some stories tell of it as a gigantic fish, sea serpent or whale, so that is quite a bit of freedom as to how you invision it.

But as Kyogre does have the shape of a whale, that would make 3 games with a mammal on the cover.

Yellow-Pikachu(rat), Crystal-Suicune(Dog or Beast), Sapphire-Kyogre(Leviathan)

When they first announced B/W would be an attempt at bringing back the simplicity that the series used to have, I was really hoping the box pokemon would be the Starters. :/

No they aren't. They are a seperate class of animal.

if you are saying Dinosaurs aren't reptiles... Please tell me you are joking. That is like saying a crocodile isn't a reptile.

Tyrannosaurus Rex- Tyrant lizard
Stegosaurus-Roof lizard
Brachiosaurus-arm lizard
Apatosaurus-deceptive lizard

Dinosaurs are indeed reptiles, as are present day lizards, snakes, turtles etc.

I think dinosaur means giant lizard but I'm not sure and what is groudon?

Reptiles are amazing hence why most of them are reptiles/some of them are.

crocs are MUCH different then dinosaurs. But actually dinos are in the bird class, just a bit different. they evolved to become birds. crocs became our reptiles, and the rodents, such as mice, became us, and other mammals.

lets stop arguing about something that died off long ago, we may never know what they became. :p

I'll say this, Dinosaurs are reptiles, just as Crocodiles, lizards and snakes are. I only said Crocodiles since they (well technically their very similar ancestors) lived long ago with the Dinos. Can't count one as a reptile and not the other.

In the theory of evolution not all Dinosaurs evolved into bird species. The main dinosaurs that are thought to have given "birth to the dinosaurs are raptors, Archaeopteryx and other small dinos. And Dinosaurs aren't in the bird class, as the aren't avians. The class of dinosaurs is strictly Reptilia. (Please note Archaeopteryx's class is Aves, as it is considered the first bird).

Anyways enough of the science lesson, we have proven that mammals have indeed been put on Pokemon game covers. Case closed.

In fact, as far as I know, Dinossaurs were reptiles... Some evolved to birds and others continued to evolve to more modern reptiles although there were already some reptiles at the time...

As for mammals, Kyogre's mith is based on the Leviathan but its overall apearance is that of an Orca so it is a mammal... In 3rd gen, only Kyogre and the Wailord family could learn Water Spout...

lugia's a bird, and pikachu, kyogre(either a whale or a fish but i count it as a whale), and suicune all say hi!
