Standard No More Rat Poison (Raticate BREAK / Ariados)

Hex Maniac wouldn't ruin the deck, it would actually help him against decks like Vileplume and preventing people from using Shaymin EX to get ahead of him if he is not able to get out a Ariados on his turn or doesn't have the proper set up. This way, you're stalling your opponent out of much needed locks and draw power as well as any other ability that your opponent needs to set up. Hex Maniac is a must in almost every deck you play since there are so many Pokémon with abilities now that can dampen your strategy. It can even hurt NM more due to the fact that Mew is back in to the rotation as it negates it's ability out. It's more in the fact of how you play Hex Maniac around your deck to punish your opponent instead of how it hurts you. Even with all his Pokémon having abilities, it's still a great card to help him get set up even more so because he's not running Shaymin EX and a majority of players are, so it basically locks them out of a free Draw Support.
ah yes but i meant from the opponent's side using hex maniac on ariados , from the player's side using hex maniac means , garbador, haunter, crobat shaymin ex as you said and even a majority of breaks will be stalled , but is hex maniac in such situations when used of raticate , if you paralyze it, does it work thanks to hex maniac not letting the ability of the the stage 1 function, or does the status condition never work due to the raticate's ability still being on during the opponent's turn though ?

In all honesty, poison damage isn't a huge threat in the current standard meta as Ariados is the main way of providing poison and Malamar EX/Hypno are the main ways of providing sleep. For your opponent to negate Raticate is by using Hex Maniac first on their turn to negate all abilities from all Pokémon, then inflicting the status condition. The issue with this is that aren't many reliable Pokémon that inflict status conditions through attacking, most are ability based as well so it honestly only hurts your opponent as well because they can't really cause status conditions on Raticate. Now if this was expanded then yes, it would be a huge issue due to Hypnotoxic Laser. Other than that, there aren't really any threats to Raticate in terms of status conditions. You're simply going to trade knockouts in all honestly.

A nice stall card/finisher/poison applicator is Qwilfish FF. If they attack then the attacking Pokemon recieves 2 damage counters and if they don't attack, then you can deal 20 damage and poison for [2].
