To better control SPAM, accounts with zero posts will be purged next week. If you are currently a lurker, you should make a (good quality) post somewhere to avoid this. Thank you. :)

Nice to see this happening - I'm sure there are loads of bots clogging up space around here :p

How will this better control spam? Wouldn't it make sense to purge accounts with less than 2 posts, and people who haven't logged in since like 2009?

Many times bots will just post once or not at all then they take up useless space. If you see the birthday list, sometimes it gets quite long.

As de explained, this is mostly just because spammers and bots are about the only ones who make accounts that post once or not at all. Anyone who's made some significant posts in the past should be left untouched, correct?

Yes. But I don't see how someone with ZERO posts could be a spammer. I'd would delete their accounts first, and then go through and delete people with 1 post.

Simple. Someone with 0 posts could be a semi-spammer if they had links in their signatures, like many of the birthdays today. If someone who lurks and doesn't post truly wants their account, they will either follow this notice or remake their account at a later time.

This should free up a lot of room on the forums or something. I'm just curious to see how many there are, right now the forums have 29,594 members...

This is great for the forums and it will prompt people to actually post that have accounts but wont post

Question!!

Some people have a post count of zero, however, that is because that every post they make is made in a forum(s) that do not count posts there as adding to post count (e.g. Game Corner).

I know this scenario is quite unlikely, but what about those people?

I've never seen some of those members, but I don't think that they'd join just to play again. If so, then they could just make a random, non-spammy post somewhere.

Then they should go play games on a Mario forum. No, but really, they should find something that they can add to, or at least go somewhere random.

Its ok buddy, You're safe now!!!1

If you post, you are safe. This is just to rid the site of inactive members.

Two things:

1) You joined recently. WPM, IMO, isn't going to delete every new account that signs up just because it only has zero posts. He's only getting rid of the inactive ones that have zero posts/spambots.

2) You have a post now. ;D

Edit: safari is a ninja?

This is a wonderful idea.

And what Safariblade said, the "today's birthdays" keeps being bigger than the online list. Like by a lot.

LOL at hopskotch.
