it's when you use the poke radar (you get it after you've seen all sinnoh pokemon) so when using the poke radar you can see some grass patches moving and when moving into those a pokemon will appear, kill or catch it to start a chain when it's started you will only see that pokemon in the moving grass patches, and when you have fainted 40 the chance of seeing a shiny patch will be 1/200 (the patch sort of sparkles) when you find a shiny pokemon and catch it you have succesfully caught a chain shiny pokemon:)

why they are different? well in moving patches you can find pokemon you can find anyway then there are flashing sortof pathes where you can find the pokeradar pokemon such as sentret and then the shiny patches...dont know if you wanted too know or if you got the answer from my last post:)

The IVs for Rotom are: 7/7/17/11/29/8

Azelf: 3/5/10/17/14/21
