RE: PokéBeach Technological Discussion Thread

I think another rule should be not to talk about Torrents and those related topics.

What would you recommend as a good and affordable PC gaming mouse?

RE: PokéBeach Technological Discussion Thread

I have a question for those you who use hotmail. My MSN account is been getting message for 2 weeks "There was a problem with the Windows Live Hotmail service (a temporary network connectivity issue that has nothing to do with your computer). Please try again." has anyone else experienced this?

RE: PokéBeach Technological Discussion Thread

I want to know how to hack pokebeach.

What is a good webcam to get?

RE: PokéBeach Technological Discussion Thread

@ omahanime
Apperantly it is a problem that many other have been experiencing. I don't think there is an actual solution to this Windows Live Hotmail glitch but I'm not entirely sure. Here is a link that leads to a discussion thread on Microsoft's website where other users are experiencing this problem.

@konter
I use the Logitech C510 HD Webcam. Only about $35.

@Darkvoid
I use the Logitech Wireless Mouse M505. Very cheap off of Amazon.

RE: PokéBeach Technological Discussion Thread

Ok so I've been using my Webcam for about 6 months now...And since they day I got it things remain the same. I'll be skyping, and 2 minutes into the convo, my cam light will flicker, and my video becomes horribad. I have to manually turn the cam off, and back on to fix it.

Why is this, and how can I prevent it? It's quite annoying for both myself and the person I'm chatting with when I have to turn off and on the cam every 2 minutes.

I also am going to start a Youtube Channel, and need my cam to work in able to do so.

What type of webcam is it? What is the brand?

RE: PokéBeach Technological Discussion Thread

Its built in. The laptop is HP.

RE: PokéBeach Technological Discussion Thread

Ok..If I want to be able to play a game like left 4 dead on PC, and/or The old republic (when it comes out). What's the cheapest laptop I can get that would allow me to do that? (preferably under 1k).

My current laptop can play WOW with minor lag but I'm Really going to get into TOR (and I only played WOW as a trial), and I want to make sure it's lag free/runs well. feel free to either post or PM me with info, preferably links as well so I can compare/contrast different people's opinions/options

By the way, please list only PC, I have 0 mac experience

RE: PokéBeach Technological Discussion Thread

@ JC
I'm not sure what it could be. Are your webcam drivers up to date? Was there a software you had to install for it when you first got? If so you could try uninstalling it then reinstalling. I'll look more into your problem and if I find anything I'll let you know.

Edit: Do you know what model it is?

@ mlouden
Here is a good website that sells good gaming laptops at affordable prices. Here is one gaming laptop that is under 1K.

2 Questions

1. My laptop says I need to change my battery and I have no clue where I can find one. Whenever I plug in the charger it says "Plugged in, Charging. Consider changing your battery" Where can I find one?

2. I make youtube videos and i'd like to know a good reecording thing that just records my tv screen. I've heard of Dazzle and HD PVR but I dont know how much they cost. Does anyone know any other good recorders and how much they are?

Usually, you can find them at your manufacture's site... for a bundle of money. Google "(manufacture name)", go to the site, look around for a store, and look around for a battery that fits your machine. Alternatively, you may find solutions on eBay, but alas, these are not official and you may not wish to pursue one.

I don't have a good answer for you if you're going to try to record something in HD, but if you only need 480p, you might want to try the Sabrent Video/Audio Capture Device. This is a good video review for it, if you're interested.

RE: PokéBeach Technological Discussion Thread

On my PC at both my mom's house and my dad's house, when I am on Deviant Art or Facebook, I will be randomly signed off in the middle of doing something. It happens only occasionally on Facebook, but all the time on dA. I use Internet Explorer. Any idea on what the problem could be or a way to fix it? This doesn't happen when I use my mom's Mac.

Your webcam may come with a free nudity detector, checking every 2 minutes. In short, stop having webcam "chats" with your "friends" if you catch me drift.

RE: PokéBeach Technological Discussion Thread

Any suggestions for a program that can resize images without losing quality?

RE: PokéBeach Technological Discussion Thread

I don't use skype to talk to my girlfriend. Imeanwut.

But yeah it's not that. I updated drivers, and tried un/reinstalling and nothing helped. My laptop model is the HP G56.

I guess I don't know much about images, but I would think that resizing pictures with any program wouldn't cause them to lose quality, as long as they're saved in a lossless format like .png.

Do you mean loss of quality as in random pixels changing colors, or something with the ratio of the dimensions?

RE: PokéBeach Technological Discussion Thread

I don't know much about images, but the image just looks blurry when I enlarge it.

That is a very standard thing across all picture programs, can't be remedied easily.
