Hi everbody,

I always used to collect pokemon cards (in the olden days), my father even
brought some from tokio (ASIA). Two and a half jears ago i stopped collecting pokemon cards. Now i want to start playing them but i noticed that there is a new edition from the pokemon cards. The small brother from one of my friend has the new cards now. My question is can i use the older version to play with my friend's older brother.

p.s i'm knew here, if this was already posted just please write the link in.
 
You can use it with your friends but not probably in contests (like city championships).
Its because most of the old cards are already out of format.

If you intend to play in the Modified Format, there are a few cards within earlier sets (like Switch and Potion) that have been reprinted, thus being playable.

But for the majority of the cards you probably have, they aren't playable in Modified. All cards from sets Ex: Deoxys and on are currently playable, so go from there.

If you're just playing for fun with your friends you can use any cards that you want.
