Ruling Old Energy cards?

Can you have basic energy from any generation for Battle Roads or do they have to be from the newest expansions?

Yes, you can. You can play any card from any set as long as it has been reprinted in a current set. In most cases, you would need an official card-dex translation if you play an older card, such as Base set Charizard (reprinted in Stormfront). However, seeing as basic Energy haven't changed in... well, since the beginning of the game, you can play Basic Energy cards from any set without fear of penalty.

Thank god. D: I don't even know how you're suppose to get the new energy now, it never comes in boosters.

You can pull them from Diamond & Pearl, but the cards in there suck so bad it really isn't worth it.

But I guess if you have all the original energy you don't have to worry, yes? Unless you're scrapping for Dark and Steel energy. {D}{M}
I only have like 3 Dark and 2 Steel D:

You can also pull energy cards through POP 8 & 9 packs. Just to let you know, you can also use basic energy of any language.

Also, all Professors now have access to bulk energy. Everything except dark and metal. Dark and Metal is easiest to acquire in the Theme Decks.
