Pokemon Old Pokemon Red Version & Guide? - Help identify this product

So I recently bought this item off of the goodwill site, and cannot find any information, pictures, etc that relate to it. Can anyone help me out and tell me if this is real, where it would have come from, value, and any other information you can scrounge up? If this is in the wrong section of the forums I do apologize, I wasnt sure where to put it! Thank you =)

I forgot to say that its a sealed pokemon red version with a brand new guide in retail casing! =P

Thanks! Yeah after looking for info and finding nothing on it, I decided I couldnt pass it up and had to get it haha.

that's the guide I own for the original games, so I can confirm its legitimacy. it's one of Nintendo Power's old guides and is actually pretty neat.

This part I do know, but thank you for your reply =) im actually more curious about the fact that the pokemon red and the guide are packaged together in retail plastic, because I cant find one on the internet like it!
