There are a few ways to render something.
The first, more professional, way of doing it is to carefully cut out an image from another using the lasso tools. If you're good at it then you can cut out some really good renders but it's (very) difficult and time consuming to master. However there are things like the magnetic lasso tool which makes the job faster.

The second, easier, way is to use the magic wand tool to crop out any backgrounds. This works best for simple backgrounds though so if you're looking for a more spectacular image then you'll just have to learn the ways of the lasso or hope you come across it in a search.

Polygonal Lasso for me, takes even longer but yields near perfect Rendering :)

Delta is correct though about time taken, tis why my EX's take so long to do. Having to first redner said art, then manipulate it to fit the illus box + all the other objects near it, not to mention text it has to warp around.

My Tornadus EX is a prime example. The wallpaper itself had most of the Pokemon on it, but its tail was hidden by another, so I not only had to render Tornadus out, I also had to create the tail, cut it off, move it to the west side and then create more clouds...was time consuming but turned out to be my most viewed/commented card haha :)

Text-less Basic Japanese-style blanks (excluding Darkness and Metal types)...



Click the blank to go to the deviation page, then click the download button to the right.

I was thinking about making some Japanese-style Shining Pokémon cards, so I made these. They're not super-accurate (I couldn't find high-quality scans), but they should work well enough.

EDIT: Updated the blanks with more-accurate symbols and "boomerangs."

I actually already have Metal and Darkness blanks, but I hadn't uploaded them because I didn't make the symbols for them. Metal Darkness

And just in case you still want it, here's the texture-less version. You can use it for Dragon or custom types, I guess.

The "boomerangs" need to be recolored to match the blank's type.

asche - On the stage 1 grass bw blank, there is a small line of empty space where the background or holo can be seen underneath the blank, just above the "evolves from" line. Was this intentional?

Didn't notice that tbh PMJ. Must've accidentally cut the texture background and didn't clone stamp it back.

Good eye! Uploaded the fix.

I remembered that the OP linked to a post containing a set of my custom blanks (which weren't very good), so I updated linked post with most of my custom blanks (including the ones that were there before). Also, I updated post #965 with more-accurate Japanese Neo-style blanks (though I still need to replace the type symbols with crisper ones).

Does anybody know where I can find:
  • Futura STD Heavy font
  • GillSans STD (Regular)
  • The text "1995, 96, 98 Nintendo, Creatures..." on the bottom of the Base Set cards.
  • The correct HTML notation for the cards HP. (Or just a copy and paste).

The text for the Nintendo copyright can be found on most up-to-date text guides but if you need it here it's:
© 1995, 96, 98 Nintendo, Creatures, GAMEFREAK. © 1999 Wizards.

Do you mean the hexidecimal code? Again, the colour is included within most text guides however if you need it it is ff1f00. Or at least that's what I use.

Not a clue where to find GillSans STD for free.

  • Team Plasma EX full art blanks (Preferably the electric type blank)
  • Team Plasma Full Art Supporter
  • While I'm at it, the rest of the Team Plasma blanks

I don't think they're available yet. You'll have to wait until asche gets around to finishing them or try editing regular BW templates to make them.

EDIT: I edited asche's FA Lightning BW blank to make this. For other types, just replace the type symbol with those from his other BW Full-Art blanks.

As for the Classic font guide, I should have it done sometime tomorrow (I already have most of it done, but I still need to add a few things). However, I want you to try installing these fonts first, as these are what I'll be using (since I know you haven't been able to get Gill Sans Condensed Bold to work): http://www.4shared.com/rar/j0PTBALI/Humanist_font_familly.html (you will need to sign in or create an account to download the file).

That's the most important thing. ;)
