Um, you do realize Regigigas is covered in moss because it has been a "statue" for thousands of years? Of course primal Regigigas would have no moss at all growing on him. :p

Customization confirmed? There is a clear difference in May’s hair between the two screenshots. It’s far from confirmed, but this does certainly point to it returning.

It's not so much the hair as it is the outfit. Besides, I feel like the fact that they have grey eyes in the official artwork is proof that we can customise.

The high-res artwork shows not only that Steven has a Mega Stone on his broach, but Archie is also partially concealing a Mega Stone embedded in the Anchor around his neck. So we could be looking at potentially (if Archie's team doesn't change that is) a Mega Sharpedo for Archie and a Mega Camerupt for Maxie.

I'm surprised that only the first stage of the starters got new artwork, and not the second and third stage. That is lazy and disappointing ;-;

I personally expected it.

Going from previous 3rd installments (Platinum, B2/W2) it was always just the 1st stage that got new artwork. (excluding HG/SS because pretty much all Pokemon got new artwork so they looked up to date, but 3rd gen didn't have this problem)

In FR/LG, first gen mons got new artwork. You can see that in early ex era cards, pre evolution icons use RGB art, and post FR/LG ones use the updated art. Same with HGSS, so its only natural to expect new artwotk for all Hoennmons.

Wow these games look pretty cool. Looks like the Hoenn region has had a makeover. Cool XD.:)

...I'm going to believe that there is customization in the games until someone shows me blunt proof that it doesn't exist. I'm going to treat the different colour shirts (?) as a possible hint towards that.

...Or...they could just be different colours due to the different versions and i'm over thinking things.

I'm not really sure on the customisation. They are generation three remakes and they might want to stick to the characters from that time. There also weren't any shops to buy clothes in that generations, obviously. On the other hand it's a cool new feature and I can imagine they would make a way around that to also implement it in the remakes.

Lol, epic fail. Indeed you're right. Still, I'm going for denial and say that Primal Regigigas didn't used ropes but ivy instead and it was all covered in moss and that what we see today is actually what survived the cold weather (he was in Snowpoint Temple and in B2 in Twist Mountain near the ice rock).

haha :D

but yeah, cursiously its always in cold places o___O

If Rayquaza gets a Primal forme too (well it has to, otherwise the other 2 bros are 770BST monsters compared to its 680 LOL), they really need to give Regigigas one too, because it always seemed to me like they intended it to be "part of the family", not just because the golems originate from Hoenn, but because it has the same kind of markings over its body, and because its the only legendary besides Kyogre/Groudon with a weird 670 instead of the usual 680 total..

inb4 "but then the regular golems need primal formes too" xD

Unlike Regigigas, they don't seem like they are obviously weaker than before.

Now that the concept of primal formes has been revealed... no, even if it wasn't revealed, it's clear that Regigigas isn't as strong as it used to be (ability, design). So if there was a way to awaken him to his former glory, that would be pretty nice.

True, but Gen III is where there was a dramatic shift in Sugimori's style. Compare Gen III art to that of Gen VI, and there's nary a difference; early on in the new style, Sugimori relied more on textures and softer colors than he does now (see: the hi-res starter art on the front page), but otherwise any changes are subtle.

The reason Kanto and Johto Pokémon got new art for FRLG and HGSS is because their old watercolor art didn't fit in with the new style and looked out of place. The same can't really be said anymore...not to say I wouldn't welcome it, but it's pretty evident it isn't going to happen.

OR Regigigas will also Mega-evolve. Each one of the three Regis "sons" will give a mega-stone that when holded by Gigas will allow it to Mega-evolve into one of three (one exclusive to OR, other for AS and the other for DE. When all of them are collected and absorbed by Gigas, it will devolve to its primal forme.
Insane isn't it!? :p

I think that Regigigas should get a Primal/Mega Evolution, but not the original 3 Regis, just to show that Regigigas is the creator of the Regis and to give him some kind of advantage over them.

That was different.
They all got new art because it was possible to tell the old style from the new (which R/S/E always had). Considering no 3rd gen Pokemon has art that needs to be updated (like 2nd/3rd gen has) then there's no logical reason to do them.
Heck, Groudon/Kyogre stil use their R/S/E art on the official ORAS website, and it's not like they're just some random Pokemon, they're huge parts of the story. Same with the Mega starters, they're gonna be huge advertisements for the game, and it's not like they're ignoring the Pokemon completely, they're giving them badass Mega Evolutions.
If they don't need new art, then I can't really see any reason for any other Hoennmon to get them.
They even use Treecko/Torchic/Mudkip's original art on the same page that they have the new one.

I mean, it's not unthinkable that some would get new art, but I wouldn't expect it for every Pokemon.

I think Regigigas will Mega evolve for 2 reasons:

1. He has always been a slow Pokemon. I think his ability was slow start IRC.
2. He has always had high defense but was pretty weak on other things and his move pool was not that great compared to the other 3 regi's.:)

Me too!!! I'm in love with the bodybuilder look he's got lol
Too bad he skipped leg day...

In all seriousness, though, Mega Swampert's design is growing on me. I wasn't a huge fan at first, but every day I like him more and more. Must be the copious amounts of fan art that's out there.

If we are getting a special/primal/mega/devolution evolution of Regigigas, I really hope we get more of his backstory, or even a sidequest to go with it. I am 99% sure regigigas will be in the game, the regis debuted in r/s/e.
